I get a migraine very quickly if I drink some Lager's. I can't drink any canned lager at all!!!! I drink (bottles or draft) Corona, Peroni, fosters, Moretti, Amstel, Coors, San miguel, Estrella. Most of the other big brands give me migraines. If I go into a pub and it has zip I can drink it gets crossed off the list lol.

I used to drink a reasonable amount a couple most days and a binge on a Friday night, but in November 2018, i caught Bacterial Meningitis, and was in a coma for 12 days on a ventilator, and after 10 days they wanted to switch it off, But my wife fought to keep it on, they said if i survived i would have serious brain damage, yes, i can hear the jokes coming already, but after 18 months recovery, i am not in a bad shape, have lots of medication to take, which means strictly no Alcohol, but i still enjoy going out for a meal or a drink at my local, i drink Heineken 0.0 or Tanquary Gin 0.0, i can't get Guiness 0.0 but have tasted it and i can't tell the difference, a friend who works for Guinness sent me 8 cans, also i have a mate that has a rural pub in Eire and has Heineken 0.0 on draught, which he drinks and says the draught is the same as the normal, PS Guiness 0.0 sales have overtaken the normal Guiness.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Be well Lanzo. I gave up drink 6 years ago I don't miss it. I don't drink non alcoholic beer as some still have some alcohol in them and I can't be bothered to work out which ones don't. I also don't want to be reminded what beer tastes like in case I start down the slippery slope. It's funny the other alcoholics I have met have differing views, some like me just stick to soft drinks, others swear by the zero alcohol stuff. There doesn't appear to be a consensus. Edited by Badger11 (17 Sep 2022 8.34am) Thank you, i drink tea, decaff coffee or water at home, i did miss the social side, and my wife likes a VAT, so i have a couple of 0.0s on a friday, i used to watch the games in a bar, but now watch at home, too much temptation.

a few years after giving up alcohol, i gave up Gluten. And hence AF beers are all gone now. Not only do you not miss them, but all the calories & money are a consideration. drinking herbal tea at night makes you feel super the next morning. Plus the sleep is 100 times better than booze. i still visit the pub. Sometimes social or to watch football. And again, able to drive home after the gig.

Alcohol is like sugar. Once you stop taking it for a while, you don't miss it. The trick is to start not taking it. Both are super addictive and well done to anyone who has conquered them.

I would have to agree that it is an abundance of chemicals on most massed produced beers that makes the difference. I don't know of it was true but a few years ago there was a rumour that at one point Stella was made by way of a chemical process that meant it could not be described as beer. Seek out a local small batch brewer for lager (Westerham do a few) ora decent cask ale if you want more of the good stuff.
