Where were they both located when the call came? Truss was in HOC where was Boris? I don’t know, do you?

No idea but both left Northolt at around the same time, her a tad later, and those private French planes the RAF bought are juicy!

Probably true- although it"s the oppositions job to hold the government to account and I am but a mere journalist!

YAWN, another thread in the guise of a CONservative incompetence thread. Either get a life CP or move to 'Any Country you want' If it's that bad, but like a lot of my old drinking buddies who at this very moment are probably sat in a dingy old boozer in Balham they'll talk & bitch about it but will still be sat in that dingy old boozer this time next week.

I bet they aren"t Jim- the CONS have fcuked the country big time since you were last over- a pint in a dingy old boozer in Balham is about £5 or£ 6, under the CONservatives these old drinking buddies are at home, deciding whether to put the heater on or eat! Great to see ex President Obama and his wife recieving their portraits at the White House- the President looking well and its not just the upturn he"s having, God Bless America!

TBF I’ve never particularly considered academic success as indicative of ‘intelligence’, well not as a solitary parameter in any case.

For example, I knew a former head of a very sincere organisation I used to work for, who was widely respected for his qualifications, academic and business success, who earned a fair whack as a result and was chauffeured everywhere. The chauffeur was not a personal or organisational preference, he was actually a nice and a surprisingly humble guy (albeit strange), but despite several efforts he never attained a drivers license, something many do as teenagers. He also once asked once tried to pass off a pretty famous quote as his own musing in a meeting once which was excruciating to witness as just about everybody caught it immediately.

Liz Truss can have all the academic qualifications and career success she has however a dog learns through obedience and repetition, two prominent requisites I’d suggest necessary for Liz’s success’s. As to whether she has the temperament, awareness, agility of mind, moral constitution, social capabilities, life experience and common sense to do well it’s hard to know. I am confident in saying I have neither the required insight or factual evidence to provide comment however my very limited impression and knowledge of her are not encouraging.

You beat me to it, excellent post Nicholas!

Whilst not being a fan of Liz Truss, calling her a thicko is a bit disingenuous as she is anything but as she graduated from Merton College Oxford in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant.

Why not tell us about your educational qualifications

Although Nicholas has beat me to it, I might add that she is known in the cabinet- like lots of them , as not being the brightest! Just because you go to university doesn"t mean you"re bright, just means you can swot perhaps, and to much swotting can lose you your communication skills- liz being an example as she is slightly awkward, even a blu nose like you might admit! As for career progression, she is known to drop her knickers- a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
Oh, and my knowledge of London pass is considered as the same level as a university degree- I also have a c an g trade, and a forklift driving cert- always a grafter me-don"t have all the eggs in one basket- you never know what a CONservative corrupt gov can do!Uber- see you in court!

That is something completely different as Nick Gussett Mark Two called her a thicko which she obviously isn't

I would suggest they are all markers for intelligence and a lack of, or notably low 'rating' in any of the aforementioned would constitute a 'thicko'. As to whether she is or not, I have heard it touted but not to an extent I could absolutely condone such a statement.

From what I have heard, she is very much a parrot - by that I mean a person who is devoid of any original thought. She may well be able to negotiate the social construct that is Gov. through adherence to social conduct and the echoing of things she is said and told in order to attain the position she has however I don't think much weight or respect is put upon her own thinking.

All this very speculative and as previously mentioned I am hardly an expert on the subject matter, just what I hear and that's not from MSM, other posters, John who works in the Post Office etc.
My original point was not really about the label of 'Thicko' being applied to her and more so the questioning of ability to shoot down such a statement based purely on somebodies academic prowess and ability to rise through ranks in Government. By that analysis alone it would be like praising Nigel Farage and Diane Abbott as being 'smarter' than the vast majority of the population. Something evidently not true.

So in summary there may be evidence for her being a thicko, I'm aware of many holding her in such a regard however I don't think too many really know however I equally wouldn't state 'she's studied x or she's done x in govt. therefore...' as this is not, for me, a good way of assessing somebody's intelligence!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I’m sure you have intimated that Rees mogg types don’t get the real world, so just maybe this woman will get that. Maybe she has been ‘our’ side of the fence. I think your being a bit two faced calling out her lack of qualifications. Not being ‘the brightest’ could work in all our favours tbh. Not helpful to her start though with her maj dying within a week. Boris had covid. Don’t have much luck really!

Truss and Rees-Mogg certainly upsetting their civil servants, don't really think this is clever.

From things being difficult to do it could become things virtually impossible to do.

Remote working can become switching off altogether.

For most of us I think being called woke and anti-semitic (?) at work followed by job cuts would not be conducive to getting our help, more like the re-cycle bin.
