Potter is clearly a great coach but sometimes with the big clubs it's also just as important to be able to manage big players and their egos. If they're looking for quick results they might be better off with someone else, but if they can afford to be patient then I think Potter would be great for them. With their outlay I'm not sure they can be patient though.

If Potter did leave Brighton who would they go for? Scott Parker maybe?

Just off the back of that ASCPFC, I have a musing I'd like to share:

The somewhat inability to name a list of managers obvious for the job is interesting and one I would completely understand.

I have felt in recent times the era of the 'wonder manager' has been somewhat in decline. I'd suggest (of my own theory) that this is down to the sheer money involved these days and therefore the concentration on players and other aspects of football becoming far more intense.

It's almost as if the footballing success blueprint has been reduced to 'Pump money in to buy the best players, big(-ger) ground, drum up social media and commercial interest' etc etc and everything should fall into place with ultimate responsibility being on the manager, who'll we'll just sack if he doesn't deliver the world.

This is at the highest level of course. I suspect the likes of us still operate closer (likes of Potter, Howe, PV and co. don't go unnoticed) but yet not far unremoved from the new model.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Thomas Frank was Dean Smith's deputy.When Smith departed to be manager of A.Villa, Frank was appointed manager of Brentford with the team in 7th place after 12 league games.
Frank lost 8 out of his first 10 games in charge but the Brentford board never panicked and 'Pulled the trigger' and the rest is history.

I suspect they have already got a fair idea, as Potter was always going to be in demand. They may well dip into the Championship again or even the manager of Uncle Tony’s Belgian club

Not that I really care what Chelsea do, but seems to be crazy timing. I presume Tuchel was involved in player acquisition / transfer strategy. So a few days after the window closes having spent $250mil, you sack the guy who you task to manage that group of players. Maybe Tuchel wasn't involved and its the board running the show. Either way, that doesn't sound healthy.

Whoever they bring in now as manager can only work with the players they've got. Bad attitudes under Tuchel, and same bad attitudes under the next manager. And like Everton, I feel they have lots of expensive flops.

Gallagher seems destined to warm the bench. When he misses out on a WC spot, I hope he has some seconds of regret about not moving to CP, as he counts his stacks of cash.
