There are some posters who I find exceedingly offensive with their comments and others who are impressively knowledgeable. Even if I don't contribute, I read the posts avidly because if they are not directly related to the Palace I know the person who has written is a fan of the football club I have supported since the mid 50s. So a kindred spirit. midlandspalace, I know some posters are frustrating, annoying and, on the face of it, ridiculously stupid, but it's no reason to throw in the towel. In the words of the song by Them: 'Baby Please Don't Go'. Well put POG .

(Yes I know I won't be missed). Living out of London for the last 50 years I have always enjoyed finding any Palace chat I can with fellow supporters. This site has been wonderful for that. Regrettably, the last few years I believe this site has changed, that as we have had season after season in the top division significant numbers of people here seem to have lost all sense of reason and all connection with reality. In my view this site should be about pleasure and enjoyment, sharing the ups and downs of supporting Palace with all the other lunatics like me. Instead it has become a whingefest, especially at transfer window time. "Why doesn't Parrish open his wallet?". "why don't we buy a,b,c,.......................z?", "why have we not unloaded s*** player a,b,c....?", and on and on. There is no pleasure here on this site for me now. I will wish you all well. Up The Palace!!!
Always found your comments fair and well reasoned/balanced. You are right times have changed - but that’s largely due to the environment the club now operate in, the associated status and increased expectations as us as fans. On the recent window, my view is whilst I was at first a little underwhelmed - the more I thought about it - I’m more inclined to agree with what the line seems to be coming from PV and the club - this is a unique period, in that we now only have 12 games between now and the January window. This window prices have been hiked by the likes of “Sherwood Forest” paying ridiculous amounts for very average players and where has it got them - they are second bottom after 6 games. Meantime we’ve kept our powder dry - look we’ve had the toughest start of anyone in the league - especially given our away fixtures - watched “the Weed” today and Sky commentators waxing lyrical over them - but they’ve had a really easy start - let’s see how they fair when they have a run of games like we have just had..!! We’ve now got an “easier” run of fixtures coming up through to the next window- with a squad that has had the toughest of starts but still acquitted themselves very well - so going back to what I said earlier, with the uniqueness of the World Cup being in November (what’s that all about..??) to my mind validates PV’s and the clubs stance in being sucked into paying ridiculous amounts for players in an inflated market created by “Sherwood Forest” and others..!!! Bottom line is Mate - is that we are in the most successful period in the clubs history - majority of us on here have not lost perspective on what it has taken to get us here, how fortunate we are and beyond the huge potential of he future. Meantime we should all enjoy the ride together, including you - made all the richer by our diversity of opinions and views. COYP

byeeee. DRT did it well(for the older members ) Well, it's funny because I recall a time when the likes of Steve Parish and (allegedly) Neil Danns frequented this site, but also found the audience to be largely bellends. DRT was one of the aforementioned bellends, with some ill-advised requests to retrieve some coins he'd lost, if I recall correctly. So he was banned rather than flounced. Do bellends realised they're bellends? Am I a bellend? Hands up if you're a bellend.

I've been a member since 2006 and I genuinely don't think it's changed that much. I mean, we don't discuss which branch of Wetherspoons George Burley can be found in, or whether Wayne Andrews will be the next saviour, but people have always argued and called each other names and expectations have always being mixed. The site does seem to have a stronger presence of conservative/pro-Brexit rhetoric buzzing around it these days, whereas I'd rather the politics were kept separate, but aside from that it is what it is. What would help is if we can string a few wins together, as these forums are never better than after we beat Brighton.
