Could have been better but at what cost ? Lets see where Forest are in the table come January, all very well throwing cash about in a panic to appease the fans but no guarantee of points. We may not have the depth we wanted but still look OK & come Jan' we'll still have cash to spend (hopefully)

Forest are ridiculous and I hope they go down because of it.

But they chose not to. It's easy to spend money when it isn't yours. As fans none of us knows how much is or isn't available and, fortunately, we don't have the backing of any Saudi murderers. 9) Do any of us know whether, for instance, Phillips is ready to make the step up? I doubt it but maybe the hierarchy think he (or another youngster) is. 10) Some serious activity will be needed next summer when Wilf goes, as I assume he will. Maybe we were holding funds back to have a kitty then? 11) Rak Sakyi seems to be doing well at Charlton, maybe he will come back and step up? 12) There you go, I've run out of straws to grab. A lonely voice of reason, amongst the usual moaners. I not sure what people expected, the club invested in the Academy to bring young players through. The days of buying the likes of Benteke and Sakho on huge wages are gone. Vieira knew the plan when he arrived, dont forget he failed at Nice and was sacked. The positive of the window, we still have Zaha, Eze and Olise.

On the evidence of Oxford United, he's nowhere near ready. It's been a telling 6 days for Palace, with 3 capitulations - 2 on the pitch and 1 in transfer activity. The optimism of last season seems to have quickly evaporated.

I can see that Palace didn’t want to spend money for the sake of it, I’d have hoped that we would have had a decent punt on Gallagher if he was available.

Assuming rules haven't changed there remains the free agent list, I am sure that even though it wouldn't be the place we would expect to be shopping many a bargain has been had over the years from salvaging someone's career - especially if we are looking for a specific type of player to do a job for a limited period of time (example midfield aggression - 1-2 seasons) - Additionally - I would be looking at Sherwood forest player list, with all of the players they signed I would think that the possibility that some dont make their registered list of 25 players is quite high - again, whilst I know there will be some out there that say if they aint good enough for Forest why are we bothering ? Forest have upgraded on some of the players that they initially bought meaning there is a strong possibility of unhappy players - Think possible loan deal ? There are probably other avenues out there to be explored Just my tuppence worth -

Yeah your opinion but as a fan of palace why would you say we deserve to struggle. That’s such an odd thing to say. People have been praising Dougie and SP for signing Eze and olise, Andersen, Guehi, we’ve had a disappointing window but we are a small club that can’t afford to spunk money on over hyped players. To be honest Lefty, I don’t want us to struggle, I think like most fans I am frustrated at a half baked attempt of a transfer window. We all know there is a fine line between mid table and relegation, and this season could be ever closer. We haven’t stood still we have gone backwards due to a couple of players not being replaced but at least 3 others being older and unreliable. You only had to look at our subs bench on Tuesday night. There were 3 months to identify targets and plenty of back ups. Sometimes you have to accept that you won’t get your initial target, especially if we can’t financially compete. However, to leave significant gaps in the squad is meaning a few injuries and we are likely to be struggling. Those around us and below have attempted to move forward, we have failed to do so.

Yes we need to buy and re-develop Selhurst Park, but it is plain to see that SP and those who saved our club do not have bottomless wallets. It will be a struggle with the financial resources at the clubs disposal. Fans should keep the pressure on but not abuse those to whom we owe so much.

Don't worry there are only 13 league games till the next window opens
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Thanks YT - I am sure SP & DF will be able to rest assured that there is nothing out there worth looking at because if it was it would be under contract with a PL club already & have a number of zeros after the £ sign - Originally posted by YT
