It seems Bye-Bye Qatar for Gallagher at the moment. Expanded our chances to resign him - hope so!!!

Under normal circumstances I would have suggested that CG would probably stay put, sort out his frustration demons, make his peace with the club, bide his time & hope that it would come good in the end -

However these are not normal circumstances, its a world cup year & CFC have new owners who will want to be seen to be successful at almost any cost to justify the purchase price of the club (£4 Billion was it) ensure CL football continues & satisfy their fan base -

If I was a betting man I would now risk a chunk of change on CG being either at Palace, Everton, Sherwood forest or Sandcastle by the close of the window.

Feel sorry for him to be honest.

Life and careers are full of tough decisions. His family club - the huge sense of pride the family must’ve had with him being presented with the opportunity to cement a place in the first team squad with the chance to play his way into the first team becoming a regular and starter.

Flip side - knowing the club is in transition and the very culture, philosophy and nature of the club means it is no means certain he would get a chance to showcase his abilities and play to his strengths in a system with a run of games to highlight his qualities and what he could offer to the team.

With the constant need for centre midfielders who they buy-in and seem to be current internationals it is tough for him and looking at the game yesterday it could be inner frustrations and being unsettled psychological / wrestling with the predicament of trying to show himself in the best light in a short space of time to make the World Cup - this could all be too much for Conor as he can’t be relaxed and natural on the training pitch or on game day with the World Cup fast approaching and trying to make the plane.

The smart move would be for him to come to Palace on loan with a January break clause. He would be first choice here and if he plays well in the England squad. Then after the WC and in the January window he could then decide his options for the rest of the season.

I fear he will be in and out of the Chelsea side and not picked for Qatar.

I thought Tuchel attacked Conor for his second yellow far too aggressively post match. Seemed to me that he was trying to deflect attention away from his decision to play him in the first place. Gallagher has apologised on Twitter or some such.

In any event, the young lad will have an uncomfortable ride for the foreseeable future if he stays where he is.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Yeah, fine thanks Just a bit of fun...
Regarding CG, if he hasn't done he should take time to reflect how his time at Palace raised his profile and game. His frustration is clearly on display.
Take a leaf out of Tammy Abraham's book, and move to a better club.

If you subscribe to the view that CG played his best football in the first half of last season, then it’s been a long time since he reached those levels.

He has his work cut out if he’s to get back to that standard while he’s at Chelsea, playing for Tuchel , a coach that is under pressure to deliver given Chelsea’s expenditure. And a coach that doesn’t fully trust him either.

We might start to see some price ‘ correction ‘ should he become available.
