Our 3-0 win over them last season really hurt them. They are coming to this fixture hell bent on revenge. Have a little read on social media. They are still livid about that loss. They are coming to beat us more than get 3 points. I hope PV and the boys realise that. They want to hand us a 4-0+ thrashing. Now pride comes before a fall they say… Their impatience to score goals may well be their undoing. Yes, remember Liverpool in 2014: 3-0 up with 11 minutes left, their fans roaring them on for more, final result 3-3.

I'm not too worried about tonight's match, which is quite something for a serial catastrophist. A loss to Arsenal won't be the end of the world, a point will be good in my eyes and a win spectacular. I'm slightly more focused on performance today. Would like to see Doucoure out there, wonder who will start in goal and as always will be hoping Zaha sparkles and not for the opposite. A good and promising performance would be best for me. I expect from this team, and any PV one, to make a professional start, and not the all too often witnessed at Palace 'Mike Bassett-esque' sluggish and unprepared beginning. Huddersfield still haunts me. Arsenal are looking strong, but for me still look likely to melt under any pressure as they have done for almost two decades. It's a strange one to digest, not starting off just hoping to get enough points to avoid relegation and actually a slight air of aspiration from myself. Pre-season never tells anyone anything. Without sounding to cliched, I hope for a raucous Selhurst, I'll be there of course, and a team looking up for the season as opposed to seasons past. COYP!!!! F**king buzzing for it tonight!!!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Did you see that the new BBC expert? pundit replacing Lawro is Chris Sutton. Naturally he has the Arse winning tonight. Just wonder how far into the season we will go before he predicts we will win a game.

I agree with these sentiments. Especially that Arsenal will not suddenly have grown a back bone. Nor will Man U for that matter. We can beat them if we get at them - we can comfortably beat them. Doesn't mean we will but the odds on this match mean nothing. This could be any result, any score. I think most of the Palace fans and many of the Arsenal fans know that.
