If Mitchell was no good I'd keep Tayo here. But he is. Flog Mitchell for 30m in Jan, bring in Tayo

For a club like ours, that is the way to build and stay economically sound. Besides, Tayo is more than good enough to fill the left back spot.

Mark Robbins has given an interview he wants to bed Tayo in first which makes sense it is a key position the last thing you want is a player bombing forward at the wrong time. According to the Beeb, Sean Robertson has signed for League 1 Forest Green (see 4 Aug entries). Glad to see one of our youngsters get a new club after being released.

So, the latest Academy loan out is Scott Banks to League Two Bradford. Interesting that it's only a League Two club. Obviously, not considered by our club to be near the first team at this stage in his career.

Thought he had an outside chance of some game time so disappointing to see him go down that low a level of football.

Football does come across as a funny ol' game at times, Saint. We develop youngsters. Those youngsters may get to the first team bench from time to time, then some HOL members will make a case for them to be "given a run" as the season draws on, while others will argue that they are nowhere near good enough. However, they generally remain firmly fixed to the bench (at best). Then we loan them out to Football League clubs and we sign other promising youngsters from other clubs. Then, in turn, those newly-signed youngsters may get to the first team bench from time to time. Some HOL members may make a case for them to be "given a run".....etc

We don't have anybody with his set-piece skills. Didn't get Tayo's loan either. Either could have figured this season.
