If that's the case then I hope we swerve him. I'd be disappointed if we paid over £25m for him. exactly. £25m is a great price for a bloke who has had one good season in the Championship. If Wolves have turned that down then the price they want is clearly too much. Move on

If you want to really keep track of our transfer activity, I'd suggest the thing to do is to watch Chelsea's games on their US tour this week and next. See how much, and how well Connor plays and in what role. That may provide the biggest clue to our next move in the market.
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

Unless Chelsea, have made it absolutely clear that there is no chance of a deal of one sort or another for Connor, then there is no reason to suppose Palace will not remain in for him, only taking an alternative if Chelsea, keep us waiting to long. Edited by Putitout (13 Jul 2022 9.40am)

Connor has gone. Chelsea have made it clear they want him and he wants them. Even in the event of an unlikely turn around he’s way out of our financial means….move on.

If Benteke goes the other way that would get the price down and make us the leading contenders.

It may very well be 'if we win the Champions league and domestic double next season etc.' however could just be on appearances, avoiding relegation and so on. Still ludicrous in my eyes, the words 'dodged' and 'bullet' come to mind. Edited by Nicholas91 (18 Aug 2022 3.33pm)
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
