Luka became our stalwart DM under Roy. Bit baffled why PV has started using him again when he is so clearly off the pace. He has played a big part in keeping us in the prem under Roy. For him and us this is a good decision. Just wish it included Benteke who is clearly finished in the prem.

Not sure I can think of a Palace player who has gone from being so hot to so cold seemingly overnight with the exception of loan signings we purchased (e.g. Reich). When he first joined I thought we'd hit the jackpot. Lost quite a lot of respect for him as the captain of the club when he got caught having that NYE party with Mitrovic during lockdown. Puncheon is the other Eagle whose fall was swift. But when Luka came on last night, us with a 2 goal lead....my heart sank.

He is still technically ok, but the game is just to fast for him now. Best thing for both parties is to part ways, us with a couple of mill, and him with a couple of seasons in a slower league where he'll do really well.

Last night summed up Luka. Bring on the captain at 2-1 up to settle the game. End up losing 3-2.

I don’t think the problem was Luka coming on last night it was the players going off. It was crying out for a tighter midfield 3 and both Hughes and Schlup or Gallagher would have complemented that 3. Eze should have been sacrificed and I believe we may have got the win. Instead with no midfield we fell apart.

If it is true that Luka is going, then I want to wish him all the best and thank you for what you have done for this club. I vaguely remember an interview or a quote from someone, not long after he signed. it said something like Mark Bright had said that Luka was a futere captain at the club. A few months later he was. After he settled in he had some excellent performances for us and being where we were as a club, he was just what we needed at that time. Much Like Roy. We are now moving in a different direction and imho, improving, So I can understand that this is probably the best time for Luka to move to a club that can offer him more game time. I heard about what happened at the awards event and was saddened. I thought we had more class than that. To boo your club captain and for what? Going off the boil and not being able to get game time. That happens to every player, sooner or later.. Luka, has been our club captain through, one of, if not the best times in our clubs history. He was never the best midfielder in the Premier League or even (at times) the best at the club but imho, he has been a great club captain who deserves a bit more from the fans and a good send off on Sunday. (If he is going).. Good Luck Luka and thank you..

Yes, get rid and no new contracts for Ayew, Tomkins, Kelly, McArthur Kouyate and Jach, and try to find someone to take Benteke, if all that happens a saving of 420k a week, plenty to get some replacements. One staying for further year & 2 more possible's . . . [Link]
