Well, they don’t want Mrs Starmer to find out about the affair. Since Angela separated from Mark she’s been gagging for it. You don’t think she wore that easy access dress with no knickers in the Commons for Boris’s benefit do you? When she crosses her legs Keir is no longer able to ask questions as he can’t stand up for fear of standing out. Edited by Mapletree (01 May 2022 10.08pm) The standing member for Holborn? At least Heseltine just waved the mace around.

The idea that one politician lies more than another is purely a sort of arms race where we all know politicians continuously lie, so now the only possible advantage is to claim that some lie more than others. Utterly ridiculous. The reason why the people side with Johnson is because they know that the alternative is completely unacceptable. So ridiculous that he is the first Prime Minister to accept that he did something criminal Shout as loud as you like, it doesn’t make you correct. Your modus operandi is well known. It is you that looks foolish here.

I wouldn't shout too loud about Johnson's partygate misdemeanours. You never know what is just round the corner. It just demonstrates how bereft of ideas the Left are when it comes to actual alternative policy.

This is all so ridiculous. Those rules were outrageous in the first place. Rather than all the anger over hypocritical politicians....shocker that one.....people should be punishing them for those rules in the first place. That is truly the most ridiculous comment to be read in these pages for quite a long time. You didn't approve of the "rules". So what? You weren't responsible for setting them. You just had to abide by them, like everyone else. Especially those who were responsible for setting them in the first place. With confidence in our politicians being daily eroded, choosing to ignore transgressions by those most obliged to abide by their own rules, is simply not an option. Restoring trust in, and respect for, those we choose to lead us is an imperative in these dangerous times. Johnson needs to go, along with the vast majority of those around him, and be replaced by people of principle who put our country above personal ambition. Cynics will doubtless say they are as rare as hens teeth, but I disagree. There are still many noble people working selflessly as MPs. They need to make their voices heard now more than ever.

Sorry but the two things are not really comparable. Johnson was the one making the rules. Standing up and telling people they could not attend funerals and the like. And to then be enjoying a jolly inside number 10 is simply not on. It was appalling leadership, no matter how much you want to get into the nit-picking around the rules. Utterly disgraceful on and every level. Now I loathe Starmer and Rayner, and suspect they would have done the same if they had been in power with their own lock-down 'indiscretions' proof that they cared little for the details themselves but they were not in power. What Johnson allowed, and took part in, is truly abhorrent. You want a reason to slate Rayner though then the story about her seeming to deliberately set up this 'GrowlerGate' narrative is really not on at all. They are all despicable. I have never despised a political class more than I do this current shower of s***-c***s. We disagree about many things, but on the above, I agree wholeheartedly.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

At the time he could not have had a meal in a restaurant or cafe and so this was allowed in the rules BoJo made the rules. But he didn't have a meal, he attended a party. In his home. With many people invited for that purpose. But he 'didn't understand the rules'.

What I don't understand is why you still have faith in a party that betrayed the British people and appears more desperate every day. No doubt you will next be claiming that a few midterm local election wins means that they are heading for government.

Grow up everyone! It's all nonsense anyway. One bloke had some cake in an office, another bloke had a beer in another office, that's what happened. I don't need Google translate to know that this is a casus belli by Starmer and any excuse would have sufficed.
