Time for PV to really take a good look at his squad now. I think Eduoard should be the starting striker to see if he can harness the obvious quality that’s there.

Guiata

Clyne Andersen Guehi Mitchell

Hughes Kouyate

Gallagher

Wilf Eduoard Eze

I would have little complaint if this was the team. Be nice to see Olise at some point if at all possible and would rather McArthur to Hughes if fitness allows but not too fussed.

I am very much torn on Ayew. I'm disinclined to 'knock' him and he does cover far more ground than others but I think his time is nigh. Haven't seen him much if at all this season being unable to attend games (tonight's my first) so a reasonable amount of ignorance on my behalf there.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'm not a qualified football coach and this may well not have any balance as a team, but the idea of Olise, Eze and Wilf all in the same XI can't help but get me excited. McArthur and Gallagher to provide the energy and snapping tackles. This won't be the line-up but I am curious to see whether Vieira decides to mix it up a bit as Kouyate and Schlupp as a pairing hasn't been working for a few games as neither has any passing vision and our centre-backs consequently spend about 15 minutes each game passing it between themselves. Even Jairo is better at coming and collecting the ball and moving things forward.

Appreciate the early morning sight test TL, at least my new glasses are working!

Agree with your post. Would be nice to see an 'all out assault' team, or what that would bring! Agree though doubt we'd see it and I think in any case Kouyate a necessity vs Leeds... or anyone really.

Excellent line up, send it to PV

I didn't mean to whisper!

Earlier in the season we played really well with a midfield three of McArthur, Gallagher and Kouyate, so that is another option. Personally I still see Schlupp as a really good impact sub rather than a starter, but I do think he has been much better under Vieira.

I agree very much with this statement, think I have posted that sentiment a few times myself if my memory serves me well, which it often does not!

barring any transfers, and obvs. Gallaghers (and Jmacs?) expected absence, this Is the line up I'd expect next season.

if those 2 are gone, then Kouyate and Hughes.

I think JS is a good replacement for Wilf on the left, but what he does differently is drive directly towards goal either with or without the ball. He is a goalscorer for us mainly because he gets himself in the box and is a handful. Certainly an impact sub, though, and hard to replace Wilf in any game.

Lets hope there are some transfers then or Jmac has another season in him

If fit Mcarthur is fit, for me he should always be one of the first names on the team sheet .
Gallagher can do the attacking role and Kouyate the defensive aspects, but Mcarthur is the only one who can knit the team together in midfield with his tenacity, quick passing style and tempo.
We play better when he’s involved although sadly he’s more prone to injuries these days.
I thought we have played at our best this season with a midfield of Kouyate, Mcarthur and Gallagher.
Schlupp has done little wrong and is a useful player , but in my opinion he should not be keeping those three out of the side.
I wouldn’t mind seeing us try a 4222 which Southampton and Leeds sometimes use.
This would have Mcarthur and Kouyate as the two deepest midfield players, Eze and Gallagher in the advanced midfield positions and Zaha and Edouard/Mateta up front.
It could be beneficial to get Eze more involved before the end of the season and I am assuming Olise won’t be available tonight.
