The transfer window officially opens on the 10th June so no signings before then. It closes on the 1st September at 11pm. The season starts on the 6th August so hopefully all our signings will be done and dusted well before the transfer window closes.

Given the FFP saga with Everton you would think at the very least they would have to sell several players before being allowed to buy anyone.( Apologies if they have recently sold anyone & I haven't noticed) Originally posted by Spiderman

collected 7 yellows and was suspended twice for those. Also a 2 match ban for the straight red (against Monaco). He was a sub in the remaining league game. He played the full 90 in all 3 cup games. Obviously a key player for Lens and something of a feisty lad (in the PV mould?). Transfermarkt have him valued at £13.5m (Euros 16m).

Several reports today that he has agreed personal terms with Palace today ( [Link] ). It's now a case of the clubs having to agree on a fee. Lens valuing him at 21mill. It is my understanding that we would not have been able to discuss terms with the player without his clubs permission so we can infer that an agreement between the clubs is close enough for Lens to let us talk to Doucoure. We may pay £21mill but I'm sure will try to negotiate it down as much as possible. Most likely it will be the details of how much is upfront and how much is in instalments or released when certain conditions are met.

Don’t we always seem to do this. The player agrees to come, we argue the toss over 3 or 4 million and wet spam or the toffees sneak in and get the player. If PV really wants him, and bearing in mind the guys only 22 pay the money and seal the deal!

We agree the deal and then one of them says "we'll match it. A bit like when you go to John Lewis and tell them its cheaper down the road.
