Palace Old Geezer Midhurst 13 Apr 22 10.56am | |

What a shame this issue has occurred. I was at Wembley in 1990 and for the ZDS trophy match and what a wonderful, high spirited and colourful sight (and sound) our supporters gave out. Unfortunately I can't get to the match on Sunday, but I am really looking forward to seeing the colour, the sound and undoubted heartfelt fervour that only Palace can produce. If anything, this banner contribution from a corporate level may just add to the highly anticipated efforts of the HF and all other dedicated groups of supporters. I am expecting to be wowed by the spectacle and the result. Can't wait for what we do at the final!
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The club are professional, the HF amateurs, yet we all know the HF will make a better job of the banners. I would question that, when they came to Hong Kong the "marketing guy" had no idea who Fan Zhi Yi was, so I introduced him. He did have a shiny suit and greased back hair though.

I have also noticed in some games when other parts of the ground try to start a chant the HF's are silent and or they start a different chant. Or is that just me?

I would absolutely refute that. But then I know the people that are the creatives for the Holmesdale group. Their capability and experience is WAY beyond that of the club. They also understand the Crystal Palace supporter experience, sadly the club regularly proves it does not and treats the fans like those of Chelsea or Manure or, dare I say it, Brighton

The shiny suit is always a classic look.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying the HF are a bad thing I just hate people talking on my behalf. As a club and as supporters we have shown ourselves to be a generous bunch, so I'm not surprised that also feeds through to the HF. Do many people outside of HF actually contribute to their banners though? (I'm not being difficult here, I just don't personally know anyone who does). Personally, a sea of red and blue balloons would probably put a smile on my face more than a banner, but that's probably because I'm a sucker for tradition. Hopefully the HF get to display their banner too though. I'm not really sure what it is you want me to reconsider?

This is sometimes true and it is an irritation Although in some cases it's hard to hear other sections when you are already singing and after all it is relentless. I think sometimes the AW get miffed about it. But the Holmesdale section is improving on this point and more regularly joins in than it used. There is also more of a focus on singing to the AW and encouraging them to sing back.

The club's official display of Socios.com and Etorro in red and blue will be enough for us all.
