With only 10 or hopefully 11 games to come now is the time for PV to keep his word on Rak-Sakyi and give him game time especially with the possible injuries to Olise and Wilf, 14 goal and 5 assists and i think 2/3 league player of the month awards he has certainly earned his chance.

I agree with the sentiment. We all like to see our own coming through. However, I think context always plays a large part in opportunity and unfortunately (for Rak Sakyi), things are probably going too well right now for him to get the sort of opportunities that in some ways we'd like to see. If anything, losing to Everton would have been more helpful in that direction.

The reality is we have a large squad right now. There's already a lot of youth in it if a little older than JRS and there's no shortage of competition for places. And we have a hell of a lot to play for so the next few weeks really mean something. I suspect pre season is more likely when PV will keep his word, or perhaps the last game or two of this season. But I can't see a youth movement anytime in the immediate future.

Put him on the bench at least, several times we had two keepers on the bench.... prepare him for when he can come on....

I trust PV to develop our young players.

I think that's the most likely reason for his absence.

I remember he was on the bench vs Chelsea back in August, but that was a squad really lacking at that stage. There was no Gallagher, Olise or Edouard available. I'm not sure he's made the bench since has he?

At the moment he is 19, skinny and 5'7" tall. It's asking a lot to expect him to take on Rudiger, Silva, Walker, Tierney etc. They will eat him.

I'd love to see him, but maybe he's just 4th or 5th choice on the wings behind Zaha, Ayew, Olise, Edouard. Ayew is 31 at the end of 22/23 season, when I think his contract is up. Wilf will be 30. Rak Sakyi will be 20 and hopefully by then shaped like Zaha.

Having bedded in Olise and Guéhi this year, it's probably sensible to wait a while before working another inexperienced player into the ruthless dogfight of the Premier League. Let the core or our f***ing awesome team settle before filling in the gaps.

Have we considered the fact that maybe he's just not quite good enough? A talented youngster, for sure. But it's a big step up to premier league level. He may just be another Cadagon/Djillali.

Looking on the upside, imagine if Rak Saki starts against Arsenal and score a couple of goals. Wonder how we would line up at Wembley.
Maybe I been reading too many copies of the Scorcher. Raven on the wing , Billy’s Boots etc.

He must be champing at the bit seeing how Olise has progressed, and they are only 8 months apart in age, good luck son when you get your chance

Isn’t it a sensible assumption that if Zaha and Olise are injured then Wilf will be swapped out for Edouard, Eze or Schlupp and Ayew for Olise. I think JRS has some time to wait before he plays. Might possibly make the bench.

I think he's now at least 5ft 10 ins and more than holds his own against bigger players in the U23s. Having said that, he has been unfortunate to find Olise in situ but if Olise's injury is going to keep him out for several weeks, Rak-Sakyi may well get some game time as he offers something different to Ayew.

He didn't start either game for the England U20s this break, which suggests he's not as good as some are wanting him to be.

It's also worth putting some perspective on this; no one in that England U20 squad is playing Premier League football - in fact, I think Rak-Sakyi is one of only two players in that squad with a Prem appearance to their name, the other being James McAtee who is one of the best prospects in the country.

He's developing fine - I hope he does get an appearance or two before the end of the season, particularly with our safety pretty much assured, but some perspective needed.

I think we'll see a forward line of;

Ayew Mateta Edouard

Hopefully JRS does make the bench.
