Edited by dreamwaverider (10 Mar 2022 10.40am) And he would most likely want to go to whoever pays him the most. Who wouldn't?

Well if they can't even loan players out then the Chelsea FC Loan Farm will be pretty much dead and Chelsea will have to offload the lot of them one way or another. May not be Gallagher standard but could be worth scooping up some of the younger players. Where will the money come from to pay the players. No owner, no sponsorship, no gate receipts. I’m assuming no advertising no merchandise sales. No wages breaks their contracts….. Edited by dreamwaverider (10 Mar 2022 10.57am)

Close by, young team with room to break through under the new boss, decent academy at the moment with room to further improve.

Whilst the message inside the club towards the playing & coaching staff will no doubt be, everything is fine, everything is under control, keep going about your normal duties, dont do anything hasty etc - I wonder how many have already asked their agents to put out feelers for alternative employment ?

Be very interesting to see how this plays out. All we know so far is that they can't sell tickets or merchandise and can't sell any players (or the club). The biggest question is have they got the cash to pay wages this month and for the rest of the season (their wages last season were £333 million!)
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

when a club goes into liquidation receivers are appointed to run the club & look after its interests until its either wound up or new owners are appointed - in this case who will run Chelsea whilst this situation unfolds or becomes resolved ?

If they really want to make a strong gesture they should send their loan army to Ukraine to fight Russia. Come the summer they won't have much else to do.

The biggest question is have they got the cash to pay wages this month and for the rest of the season (their wages last season were £333 million!) Nicked this off bbc sport . . . More from Kieran Maguire on implications for Chelsea: “Chelsea’s wage bill is round about £28m a month. We don’t know how much cash they have in the bank. The most recent accounts we have are from June 2021 when there was £16m in the bank. Abramovich has been injecting money into Chelsea on a regular basis over recent years and presumably that won’t be able to continue. "The concern might be what happens if Chelsea’s cash reserves are insufficient to pay their wage bill but presumably the government and Premier League, who have been working on this, will have been looking at it to try to minimise disruption on a club level.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

It would seem that the Government are open to the idea of licensing the sale of Chelsea FC on condition that none of the proceeds go to Abramovich.

This is the case However, I can't see any scenario where this doesn't take a considerable amount of time to complete. Time is not something the club now have – longer this drags on the more and more damage it causes. As someone has said, it will be very interesting to see how this plays out. If you sell your ethics and go along for the ride, at some point the devil is going to come calling for your soul. Newcastle and Man City take note
