Stalin, Mao Zedong and Hitler were hardly rational

Well, they weren't blessed amongst the cheese makers that's true but we are talking about Putin.

Putin is already a cross between Barbarossa and Macbeth.

he is probably thinking the Nuclear Football match is 2-0

The end of the cold war had its drawbacks particularly the end of the US/China accord.

Since then Russia and China have become 'partners' but its certainly qualified.

In the soviet era after Stalins death, China and Russia became ideologically distanced and competing to be top dog, culminating in a border war between them which seems largely forgotten, in 1969.

I don't think China is onboard with this, apparently they knew of this invasion and tried to delay it but how to verify that.

i reckon he will target a medium sized town very far to the West of Europe. Just to make a point.

The belligerence of the EU will suddenly transform into a panicked fear - and a rush to the negotiating table. Western France is my guess, but i could be wrong.

France produced Napoleon and is still often very arrogant toward non EU countries. France also likes to be the boss of the EU.

alternatively Putin could target neutral Ireland or Scotland....for maximum PR impact with the Yanks.

he is no saner than the blokes who did Hiroshima & Nagasaki.

The West has played a very dangerous game in triggering the Rottweiler in the East. He paused at the Ukraine border for a month, to see if we would blink first. We didnt.

This fight will escalate before Putin will ever discuss terms.

This had also occurred to me. Did you have Truro in your mind?

As any such act would bring down the dominoes I think it is still very unlikely.

is Putin capable of testing his Nukes in the Atlantic, just ten miles from the coast of Western Europe ?

i reckon killing a few thousand fish would be easy for a man of his track-record.

The cold war re-started once Putin came to power. It's not well known but our airforce has regularly intercepted Bear bombers heading for our airspace.

The last attempt being 2 Feb 2022. Yep 4 weeks ago.

There have been 136 such incursions since 2005.

All it takes is for one of those to enter our airspace and it will be shot down. Especially now.

They carry a massive nuclear payload.

I like the Independent but is there not a connection with them and Russia? This is a genuine question as it is the only paper I buy (the Metro is not really a baby just a free Mail).

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Follow Anthony Walker, he literally flew over there and is helping now. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from joining a civilian unit, people have taken up arms....indeed, I'm hearing some have been forced to.

I give up do you have a job or useful added value role to the UK?

You post so often here it is truly amazing for a real worker, I would guess public sector just due to the volume of posts, they love a non worker.

I can't help it if you type nonsense and then get sour grapes once reality is pointed out to you.

Here's another link to show you reality....you know, not the cut and paste that you seem to think matters in the real world once the bullets start.
