Eze has looked a shadow of the player he was at times last season. Understandable given the injury he had. I think he'll find it difficult to get a place in the starting eleven once we have Kouyate and MacArthur back.

Sorry cannot agree. ATM Eze is not up to speed to be in the team, as Painter said the injury has taken away his edge but hopefully it will return. I am a big fan of Eze by the way He just needs game time, he is our priority, Gallagher as good as he is only has 14 league games left for us, Eze is different class in my opinion

I've so far seen a couple of strong performances mixed in with plenty of anonymous ones. This season I've seen nothing to suggest that he is "different class". Of course I have taken the injury into consideration, and I see the potential. "To be "different class" a player has to be consistent enough to make a decided mark on every game, CG has until recently done this for example.

Additionally - with all the star player / media coverage he received early in the season opposing teams cannot fail to have underlined him as one of our key players & will almost certainly have introduced plans to try to nullify his effect Originally posted by NEILLO
Gallagher is young with limited experience at Premier League level. His early performances set a high benchmark that was always going to be difficult to sustain. He's also missed Jimmy Mac alongside him. It's a bit of levelling out with him at the moment, but I'm sure he can recapture that early season form before too much longer.

Was good in flashes last season, seemed to have his best games against poor teams, often anonymous. A bad injury came at a time where he was starting to look good though.

Gallagher has been pretty poor since his return to the side after covid/injury. Eze is returning from a very serious injury and has done brilliantly to get back to where he is. Play them both with Hughes as the sitting midfielder - something needs to change in there.

If you have ask then their is no point trying to explain the talent of the man, the England call up might be a clue

What you have to think is that we need to get Eze back up to speed because CG is back to Chelski in the summer. PV needs to get him playing again. COYP

I would suggest Eze is a far more, erm, 'entertaining' player however Gallagher is far more effective. Think they're both fantastic and certainly have the potential to do very well as PL footballers. Eze not quite there yet following his injury and there's always the anxiety around if he will get back to form. Gallagher fantastic, was a bit anonymous last game but I would hesitate to suggest his spell at Palace will go beyond the expiration of his loan. I'd like to see the best of Gallagher for the remainder of his time, I'd think it foolish to underestimate his value to the team if so but also for Eze to at least get back to where he was before. Looked a bit 'rabbit in the headlights' for me upon his return but again would suggest that this won't be permanent.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I won't hear a word of criticism about Conor who's been a terrific asset for us this season. Dougie deserves credit for bringing him to Palace on a loan deal. We've allowed him to blossom as a player and Chelsea will benefit next season. I think Dubai hit the nail on the head by saying that his bright start for us and the subsequent publicity it garnered, made opposition clubs focus more attention on him. Although he still scampers about the pitch he gets closed down more quickly. What I really like is his genuine enthusiasm for both the game of football and being a part of the Crystal Palace journey. You can tell from his various interviews that he loves every minute of what he does. We can only be thankful that he's been one of us for a season.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
