Within a couple of years he’d developing some upper body strength and could hold his ground. LP is still developing, I’m sure he’ll be okay once he gets on the weights.

He grew up around the Kingston / Twickenham area apparently, so he is coming back to South london. Since I am also from around the Kingston area originally I did a bit of stalking, and found a charming article about him him as an 8 year old, in 2011.

I watched him against Birmingham on the weekend and he quite impressed me. He is far from the finished article but does seem to have a strikers instincts.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

One million will help Derby, let's hope he works out, can't stop feeling sorry for Derby supporters as we was in a similar situation not long ago.

I'm sure Plange has at least a shot at developing into a player but am I the only person who thinks Parish was also doing what top clubs used to do back in the 1970s? It used to be that when a lower division club was on the edge financially, one of the Liverpool's of the world would rock up and pay £100,000 or whatever for one of their players who'd never see the light of day for the next twelve months and then quietly be sold back to his level for not-very-much. But the smaller club would be saved by the fee. It seems to me that Parish telegraphed exactly this point in his comments yesterday; this deal was all about meeting the needs of Derby as much as anything else. If it's the case that Plange turns out to be a marginal player who never does much for Palace but that fee we paid saves Derby from immediate extinction then I for one am proud to be Palace. And from what I've read, the fee WILL keep Derby alive at least for the rest of this season. Right now, for football, that's all that matters. Well done Parish and if Plange does become a decent Palace player one day, so much the better. If nothing else, seems to me like we've put some good football karma in the storehouse.
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

I'm not sure we are that altruistic, it's a bit like a mugger claiming he was lightening your load by stealing your wallet. My guess is we saw a bargain and went for it the same way as we were robbed by other clubs twice when we went into administration. It's a cruel world and I hope derby survive but I think Steve has spun this to help Derby sell it to their own fans. That does matter I can remember clubs and fans crowing when they bought out players on the cheap, it sticks in the craw. At least Steve was classy enough to dress it up as we were doing derby a solid.
