I now realise that the expression "taking the knee" is actually street slang for "taking the piss". My bad.

Ah, we still haven't managed to distinguish between the organisation and the protest - it must be over a year ago that was first explained.

No thanks. I'll let you continue smelling your own and will instead just talk about the topic of threads within said threads. Try it sometime.

Fair point really. The dignified move all things considered would be to not even show up for it. Both their human rights record and the dodgy nature of them being awarded the right to host it in the first place both point to that.

What a yawn.

I've never seen you support a "contention" with any sources so why pick on him?

Just seen the yellow card won't get an answer for a month.

Can’t see any kneeling in Qatar without it drawing attention to Asians working 7 days a week for to build a whole load of useless stadiums. While players are earning £300k a week.
The most obscene imbalance is Qatar ambassador of football, David Beckham who receiving £150 million for his services.
Although even that is a pin prick compared to Blatter and the local Chieftans.
We are in a crazy world whose inbalances following the covid fiasco are now totally unsustainable. Yet the gap between rich and poor continues at alarming levels.

Yep, money makes a mockery of it all.

Most people, even the rich go along to get along and people will only adhere to principles if it comes at no personal cost to themselves.

The old sayings often contain the larger truths and to paraphrase, 'it's not what someone says, it's what they do' that contains the larger truth about them.

The whole take a knee stuff here achieves very little, and with so much wealth in the Premier League imagine what good could instead be done if players worked together in local deprived communities and showed the results of that. That said it certainly does tell you something about many countries in the middle east and africa where in comparison you'd rarely see a sliver of consideration or concern for other racial groups etc and the kind of behaviour (such as that above) that informs why that is.

That also tells you something about those here who seem to prefer the approach of these nations approaches to our own.

As for Beckham, yes I do find that to be rather shameless. He's more brand than person nowadays. Barely says a word, just image. Not as though we're missing much .

The stupidity of this post is that the taking of the knee was against the racism coming from the stadium’s around the country! Players already go into deprived communities.
It YOU the so called supporters who racially abused them that they are complaining against. It sad that you still don’t get it and think that racism is just a bit of fun! Still it very clear that racism exist amongst you even if there are players of colour or different beliefs are playing for your teams. Be aware the players know that very well as they too read these sad post…..bring it on I’m waiting looool!!

I've long held the belief that Beckham has many answers to some of the important questions that still exist within big science, physics and quantum dynamics - he just struggles to articulate them. Apparently if you organise his tattoos in a specific order, it provides a narrative to demonstrate the origins to not only our planet but the universe and other universes.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
