Will be fascinating to see where he takes Twitter. He's a man of action. Admittedly there is a 'low rent' quality to Twitter at the min but it's certainly the most relevant social media network around. I expect he'll push heavily towards freedom of speech, but also firmly tie accounts to identity (to get rid of trolls, bots etc). It will reign in behaviour somewhat where it's attributed to a person and so accountability and freedoms will be in sensible balanced. I'm not sure that it is a good thing that a company as powerful as Twitter is owned and subject to the whims of one person even if I agree with their politics. Hopefully he will do as he says clamp down on the fake accounts and bots whilst allowing proper free speech. Musk is one of the smartest people on the planet but he is also a maverick who could lose interest lets hope he is a good steward.

My uncle was reading a book about Musk, around 4 years ago (don't know the book title). My Uncle said Musk was a very clever man, as he got loads of financial backing for his ideas, yet wasn't worth an awful lot himself (to begin with). A lot of his ideas have bourne fruit, which has not only created wealth for himself, but also added significantly to those wanting to invest.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Mods are usually on the ball with it. I'm all for people saying such stuff with their identity plastered alongside it. Fun fun fun. Elon can behave as he wishes as he's megarich, but his plan to link contributions to identity for normal people is more likely to result in equally normal behaviour. It would make interactions more akin to a typical face to face. In that scenario rather than endlessly argue people either find a path to commonality or they don't. A time saver for all, and less endlessly 'echo chambery'. Edited by BlueJay (27 Apr 2022 9.15pm)

"What would you buy if you had $275 billion burning a hole in your pocket?" I might finally get around to a subscription to Sky Sports and BT so I can see Palace away when they are on.
