I don’t think anyone is disputing this. He’s clearly a club legend and in my lifetime Palace’s best ever player. However, his attitude and constant petulance at times suggests he doesn’t care anymore, nor want to be here. He’s certainly not except from criticism.

Sadly he’s not our best player anymore, so he needs to stop performing likes he’s untouchable and put the effort in like the other 10 players on the pitch. He’s missed his chance for his big move, but he’s been well compensated for that with a mega contract from Palace. He’s a professional who needs to get his head down, pull up his socks and fight for the cause. As fans, it’s reasonable to accept 100% effort and a professional attitude from all players.

But his always been petulant, its not exactly surprising, I'm more surprised he hasn't received more red cards in his career, there's been numerous games where he spends more time arguing with their full back instead of just getting his head down, I wouldn't say his lacked effort this season, just been poorer than what we are used to. Fans saying they hope his played his last game for the club is just stupidity, been a massive transition for us this season and viera is doing a great job so far. Just get behind him and the players.

Didn't see any of the game today but just had a look at the "highlights".

Red card is the sum of Wilf making his usual erratic petulant actions which gave the chance for Moss to make some silly decisions. You could make arguments for neither being a yellow... the way Sanchez goes down each time is laughable but then those same accusations could often be pointed at Wilf.

A largely forgettable day.

Played well against the Saints. Scored, then laid one on a plate which Eduoard scuffed.

Overreaction to not being at his best this season.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

His petulance has always been frustrating but to be honest it's probably the biggest reason that he's spent most of his career with. So we have to take the rough with the smooth. But that doesn't make it easy to take...tbh today's red card seemed to be a lot more about reputation and reaction to me. Both incidents looked pretty innocuous and pathetic.

According to an interview with Gallagher apparently Wilf said sorry after the match. Well that makes it all better then doesn’t it.

Go off to Afcon. We need to organise without him and then let him play his way back into the team. It will be be good to be without him for a while. Did absolutely nothing right today and has not been at his best for the last 2seasons now.

Fed up of his petulance now, every time he doesn’t get a free kick he either gives up on play or gets booked. He also gave the ball away too many times today and wants to blame everyone else. Time to concentrate on the future and get Eze and Olise in the team when available. Maybe unpopular comments but just my opinion.

I feel a lot have this same mindset... it's time to move on.

He has a lot of good will in the bank, but, he isn't performing like he should and it's been at least 2/3 seasons now. We forgive him a lot, but let's be honest, if he isn't one of our own, our rose tinted glasses would be long gone.. the bloke sulks, he's not as effective as he should, considering his wage.. there are players around him constantly outshining him in terms of skill, desire, maturity...
On social media he just looks miserable and opposing fans love to hate him, players wind him up too easy.. he's just a distraction...

Look at the shift in energy with Vieira, new players.. it's time for wolf to sit back and then earn his spot.

The problem is that the petulance seems to be on the rise and the performances generally on the way down. Can’t help wondering if the petulance comes from knowing he’s no longer the fan’s favourite and team megastar. That crown is now Gallagher’s. Wilf maybe isn’t relishing the downgrade!

He seemed Ok to me today, he was fouled constantly along with Ayew and the officials seemed to have much fun ignoring their plight as usual, he has always had issues with the abuse he receives and today was no worse, both bookings were completely over the top and unnecessary from a ref clearly out of his depth, red cards do nothing but destroy a competitive game for everyone watching and I feel the rules need to change by introducing the sin bin, why should the other ten players, management, staff and thousands of fans suffer from the actions of one individual who needs to be dealt with by an independent body who decide after watching the game again the proper punishment for them, this also includes players like Kane who get away with a red on the pitch only to find themselves being dealt with off it.

It can't be a player who is only going to be here for one season, Zaha is always a target and no one can ever imagine the frustration he must feel.

At the top level of pro sport in USA most clubs have shrinks. Our owners need to bring us up to speed and have an anger management coach. Wilf needs professional help and has done for a few seasons now. He is withering very badly on the vine and if Palace continue to ignoré this huge issue then they are ignoring a cry for help which if not treated will potentially damage us in various ways. If we can’t help Zaha then we need to sell him.

I had come to terms with Wilfs petulance. I accepted it as part of his make up, his DNA. Take that side away and who knows what would be left...

However yesterday does concern me.

His overall performance was unbelievably poor. When he got the first Yellow I said to my son, he's heading for a Red. I just didn't think it would happen so quickly.

I think he's at a career crossroads. He's lost a bit of pace but he still has the ability to be an integral part of the team. Whether he wants to be is another question. He had his house up for sale recently and I don't know what to read into that - doesn't necessarily mean he's leaving Palace.

On balance, I would like him to stay. But it's fair to say that I would be nowhere near as disappointed if he left as I would have been a couple of years ago
