I really enjoyed reading about what the OP has done. For those one or two credulous people, to me it is clearly a bit of fun but also a message to our shareholders.

And well done to those people that chipped in.

The same question did occur to me, where will the money go in the end. Hopefully a local charity.

I think it's up to Conor himself. He's a Chelsea fan, as well as his family so that's a huge draw. As is Champions League and the chance to win a PL title.

I'm sure, and from his comments, that he's aware that his chances of getting 1st team football at Chelsea are limited. Tunchel has said that he'd be in the squad/1st team but that's easier to say than do.

He loves playing and I think that if we continue to play him and give him the love and support he may decide that he wants to stay, at least for the next few seasons. Let's make it a difficult decision for him to leave!

I 'almost' wish I was back living in Selhurst just to see him and the team play, but I don't miss the bogs in the Arthur!

COYP!!

If Chelsea were struggling like Arse and Tott then they might want Conor back early. But they're not. especially in midfield, and putting Conor in could potentially upset their current style of play. Conor is young and is improving in leaps and bounds at Palace with Viera a world renowned midfielder mentoring him. Chelsea would be foolish to bring him out of this environment to warm benches at Chelsea. I expect Conor to stay for 2 seasons, play for England, grow to his potential, then head back to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Viera's Palace is a squad that relies less and less on star players. If Conor goes another will fill the spot - though it would be hard to find someone as good.

It's out of the question that we could sign him. We'd have to stump up at least £40m though.

He knows he will be down the pecking order at Chelsea which will hamper his England chances. He seems happy, always has a grin on his face, and can hopefully recognise that we are going through a transition phase with lots of promising youngsters. We'll never be 'top 6' but we're heading towards the same bracket as your Everton/Leicester/West Ham's - we should soon be pushing for domestic cups/UEFA.

He strikes me as the type who's rather be playing regularly for a smaller club than warming the bench for a big club.

The purchase fund is quite funny to be fair, however I might as well put £10 down the drain!

Oh I think we will be a top 6 side - even THIS season.

Connor has a problem, if he goes back to Chelsea for next season, he has just a few months before the World Cup, if he is not playing on a regular basis for them, which is a possibility. he will not get into the England squad, solution is for his loan to be extended till at least after the World Cup

Sensible suggestion. For Connor development as a player doing another season with Palace makes a lot of sense.

Yes it seems someone had the sense to put a clause in the loan contract that he cannot be recalled , Wohoo

Unfortunately, I cant really see him staying with us.

The guy was the best player at WBA, now has stepped up and is our best player, he will have the confidence that he can step up again. Why would he not? Unless TT says he has no chance of playing.

He’s also a Chelsea fan and has been there since he was 8, so if anyone genuinely thinks he is going to turn his back on the chance to play for his club you are mad.

If he barely gets in the Chelsea team next season, he might ask for another loan, or force a move.

He is clearly enjoying playing for Palace, but I do get the impression that the boy just enjoys life.

I guess that's why the club brought in Socios. I'd say they've made about two quid so far. Add that to the fifty quid match day revenue and in around 10000 seasons' time he's ours

It doesn't help that Billy Gilmour went to Norwich. He won't get much opportunity to outshine CG there.
