Yep. It's the hope that kills you.

Broad & Anderson with the pink ball should make it a more even contest in Adelaide. Warner and Hazlewood looked to be crocked for the convicts.

Worth noting that they've never lost a day/nighter at Adelaide.

I personally feel that Broad and Anderson are not what they used to be. Broad, in particular, has really had ups and downs. Archer would have been useful.

The Archer who could bowl 90+ was promising.

But injuries gave us the 82+ version.....which is just another Woakes on Australian pitches.

This tour is going to be a complete embarrassment....Australia are nowhere as good as they use to be but it's still a beat down.

I'm still hopeful that we can rescue something. The ball will swing more in the day nighters and Anderson, Woakes and Robinson are good exponents of swing bowling and if we don't drop easy catches or bowl people with no balls or miss simple run out chances we should do better

Let's hope you're right.

I'm less optimistic....but perhaps I'll be surprised.

Avoiding a whitewash looks like something to aim for.

The ECB aren't fit for purpose.

The amount of money they have for the results they produce shows fundamental issues that they have never addressed.

Too interested in being woke and media pleasing over actually performing the task that most cricket fans want....which is to have the best Test side in the world. We should never be out of the top three.

They have been incompetent for a very long time.....but few seem to care nowadays. Paying Sky to watch them only encourages the mediocrity.

I was against this tour.

The ECB want to be all things to all people, chasing the game across different formats without rest and preparation.

I'm more concerned about the players' health than the ashes.

Their dreadful performance in front of the parliamentary committee showed up how useless they are.

How can we produce Test cricketers when County Cricket has been marginalised to the beginnings and ends of the season in favour of more money spinning shorter formats in the summer months as well as The Hundred.

2022 has improved slightly with more county cricket four day fixtures in the summer months but it's still too little too late

Ĺove the concept of day-night test cricket, why play 6 hours in the blistering Aussie sun? I think it adds a new dimension to the game, it changes the conditions and team tactics.

Great for spectators and the TV audience to watch for 4 or 5 hours after work. More time friendly for UK audiences too.

Any thought of day night tests in England?

A few years ago I went to the SGC to watch Australia playing India. It was incredibly hot and by early afternoon all the Aussies had disappeared to watch it in the pub leaving me and very few others to swelter in the heat. It's true what they say about mad dogs & Englishmen

Ha, reckon it is true.

Often wonder why so many of you settle in Perth and Adelaide, probably the 2 hottest summer capitals in the country. The heat there sent the army barmy.
