I think Edouard will come in for Ayew.
Olise will again have an opportunity from the bench.
The more complicated question is who comes in for Mcarthur.
I was sure Schlupp would be the choice at the weekend, but Luka was the eventual choice.
Personally I’m not convinced by Schlupp as a central midfield player and I don’t think Luka and Kouyate works in a team playing the way Vieira wants to play.
Hughes or Eze would be my choice to replace Mcarthur fitness permitting.
As neither have featured this season, however, I doubt Vieira will throw them in from the start.
So it looks to be a choice between Luka and Schlupp again.

I'm hoping he will, but not sure if PV will make that call. As for the rest, I expect the same other 10 who started against Burnley. If our front 3 have done the business come substitution time then we might see Eze given some minutes ahead of Olise.

its an amazing transformation wondering what good player to leave out instead of which carthorse is playing today

Pretty confident that we will get Edouard. Pretty much everything we've seen so far suggests he forms part of the A team. Ayew has been drafted in agaisnt City and Burnley who both present pretty unique challenges and there's a fairly clear logic to his selection both times - even if you disagree with it. Villa are much more run of the mill and will likely match our 4-3-3 and no need to switch things around. Also worth bearing in mind that that was Ayew's least effective performance to date likely - certainly not as if he did anything to cement his place.

If it's not Edouard I'd expect Olise

Not disagreeing with you, but, what you have to take into consideration, is that both him & CK had the furthest to travel back from WC qualifying in Africa. Not so sure about Schluppy as he wasn't listed in Ghana's matchday squads.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I'd start Edouard over Ayew, with Olise ready in the wings. Other than that, for me, the only real question is who else plays in midfield with Gallagher. I'd go with Kouyate over Luka for his defensive strength and give Schlupp a chance with his pace and directness. Someone needs to step up and fill McArthur's shoes and my gut feeling is it'll end up being Eze once fully fit as I'm not overly convinced anyone else is up to it. Hopefully someone proves me wrong; possibly Hughes?

This would be my choice. I’d like to see Schlupp combine with Gallagher. Also for me I’d give Edouard the nod over Ayew.
Having said that I haven’t been at the academy all week. So over to you PV

Kouyate over Luka baffles me for this one. Luka is such a superior footballer, in mind and quality. Kouyate’s best when he’s running around like a madman pressing and tackling. Play him against top 6. But when we have more of the ball, it’s Luka all day for me.

In a team that's been performing well neither have stood out so I think it's a close call. Kouyate does offer more of a physical presence and is better at defending which is why I went with him. Luka still looks off the pace with his decision making. Right now I would say a top-quality holding midfielder is what we could do with more than anything.

Possibly. We will have to wait and see how that pans out, although others have implied he is perhaps not a holding midfielder.
