Thought it was a little ironic yesterday that the weather delayed trains from Euston to Glasgow so badly that many of the COP delegates had to fly up there instead.

And this morning the boss of Network Rail blamed climate change for the delays. Makes a change from leaves on the line.

Climate change will increasingly become the shield for incompetence and bad management.

And I was just getting used to "it's the computer's fault" then "it's Brexit", no wait "It's COVID" so now I have to learn another one.

What we need is a 21st century Addams family girl with no scientific qualifications, a cult following and has become an industry generating income for her entourage.........hang on

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Exactly. She is the personification of virtue signalling. I don't care about that but I do care that the media give her an easy ride because she is young.

Is it possible to campaign for environmental causes without being a virtue signaller, in your opinion?

Difficult when you fly around in a private jet.

So where do you draw that line? Unless someone lives without electricity, heating and internet, they must be a virtue-signaller? It's the absolute pits of discourse on this topic. The idea that a single flight makes any iota of difference is beyond silly.

Quite. They really must take us for a bunch of c***s. All this is about is making poor people pay more taxes in a variety of forms.

f*** the ice caps and f*** polar bears. I want more fracking, more coal mining and more burning stuff.

Lewis Hamilton I draw the line at. Vegan fecking dog. Sponsored by fossil fuel and the company that made Nazi uniforms but still lectures others about what is right and wrong

The idea that it’s a single flight is a lot sillier.

So their headline is all of that is more emissions than 1600 Scottish people? So still the sum of f*ck all in the scheme of a climate change discussion.

It's a complete distraction, as evidenced by the last few posts on this thread - much easier to point score than actually confront the issue.

Absolutely it is. A virtue signaller is someone who says look I have found a problem what are you going to do about it.

I guess you have not seen my other posts on this subject across multiple threads.

These protestors are making the life of ordinary people miserable people who are not in a position to change things.

Coca Cola is the biggest plastic polluter on the planet recently their CEO said that their customers were fine with that.

Rather than Greta doing her teenage strop "you stole my childhood" why not get her supporters to go after Coke boycott their product protests, outside their factories, force them to make a change.

She wants to do something on climate change why not get her supporters to do "blackout Friday" where the kids don't use electricity or touch social media or play computer games or use tablets.

There are loads of practical things they go do rather than block an ambulance going to hospital or just simply moan not enough is being done.

I said recently they should dump a bucket load of raw sewage over the CEO of the water company dumping it in the sea.

These people haven't got a clue how to make a point and not alienate the public. I am not against protesting but I am against this type of lazy "I posted a tweet, job done".

1600 people in a year, yes. For this one trip. How many others will they take?
