Think he was a @@@@ but Pardew shouldn't be anywhere near this list.

For a spell he was a very decent manager indeed. If nothing else he should be thanked not just for the cup run and Cabaye but for re-establishing Wilf - or that is the way I remember it. When Wilf first came back he wasn't the same player but Pardew kept the faith with him and eventually he got back to where he is today. Plenty of hugely talented players have disappeared - often because of poor management.

Roy Hodgson. Someone has to say it. Check his win percentages, a worse record than Dowie, Taylor, Francis, and Pardew.
The worst "football" ever seen at SP.

Roy Hodgson did a job he was told to do and did it well

I seem to remember that we seemed to have had about 3 manages in a couple of weeks a few years ago, so the name Ernie Whalley readily springs to mind.

The list was either written by someone very young, a newer supporter, a supporter of someone else or a simpleton.

Alan Smith and Ian Dowie, and before anyone says Dowie got us promotion no he didnt, Andy Johnson got us Promotion, who was bought by Trevor Francis

If you're gonna put a promotion down to one team I'd personally say it was kit symonds. Brought Granville back at Lb, played ships up top with AJ and also played gray and routledge in the right way. Dowie just continued this on I felt

I'm not sure it's fair to include caretaker managers in this list. They are caretaker for a reason usually we have sacked an under performing manager the caretakers are just that, unless they get the job on a permanent basis they shouldn't be included.

On a results basis Malcolm Allison wasn’t great but he’s not unpopular.

“The Fiona Richmond effect.”

A few players had some explaining to do when they got home after that.
