I am still around. Still watching on TV. Went to Plymouth to see the 4-2 win in the cup and Bournemouth away last year. Got tickets from a PL assistant who also lives in Cornwall who is a mate of mine. The problem with the pubs is they cannot be relied on and tend to show the “big” teams but if anyone knows for sure we will be on why not? I do manage to stream almost every game though.

My wife is adamant we’re moving to Cornwall next year when our youngest finishes A levels. I like it particularly Falmouth & Penzance. The deal is I buy a boat which she agrees with. Anyone got any major regrets living down there? Edited by XKudu (26 Apr 2024 10.35pm)

What a brilliant thread and you've inspired me. One guy thinking alone and suddenly Palace popping up nearby everywhere. When I lived in Sydney for 24 years one guy posted similar and within a year there was a Sydney Palace supporters club who met every game in town. Im tempted to ask about Vietnam but might be more limited but well done to you all. Go and all meet together for a game ... you'd love it!! Much love and COYP

I lived in the Philippines for several months each year after I first semi retired, managing my business remotely in the sunshine. I was in a bar/restaurant at a dive resort and started chatting to the owner who was also English. Not only was he Palace through and through he was a member here with whom I had exchanged messages. He taught English in Japan but also loved diving, so owned the restaurant and flew there whenever school was out. Needless to say we used the bar a lot after that.

A friend is a past Commodore of Flushing sailing club and heavily involved in Falmouth week. There’s a very strong sailing community here, but so much to do besides, with beauty both coastal and countryside to do it in. The pubs and beer are great too.

Edited by XKudu (26 Apr 2024 10.35pm) My uncle used to live in Carbis Bay near St Ives, I love it down there and would move there tomorrow if I had my way, but my wife wouldn’t leave her elderly parents in Kent

If you go ahead and start looking for a boat, please DM me. My son-in-law has his own boat sales business on The Hamble selling boats of all shapes and sizes and will be happy to give you a good deal.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
