It took me seven hours to fill up today.

During that time I had lunch and dinner, and a couple of drinks with a mate.

Having a home charger on the driveway is definitely the way to go.
Oh, nearly forgot… it only cost me £7 for a weeks motoring.

For the moment, my 3 litre v8 will be staying put.

When you say a weeks motoring, how many miles is that ?

I hope you've fixed your energy supplier for a couple of years too.

London and the SE seems to be the main problem maybe more people and more people that can afford to fill up?

Now there's talk of prisoners being trained as HGV drivers to help with rehabilitation and to ease the shortage.

That's all we need, bloody Katie Price behind the wheel of a bleeding great pink juggernaut.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

She’d prefer a pink pneumatic vibrator

Actually ‘ great pink juggernaut’ sounds like could be her favourite sex toy

There's plenty of wealthy people in all parts of the country. People on a modest income by London standards often have a much better standard of living than you'd expect if they live far away from the capital.

London has the best public transport by a long way. I'm surprised there is a claim its so badly hit. Prehaps it's more to do with the convenience of filling up. In London, rather than sticking in £30 hear and their when running low people are now filling up.

People that live in more remote places are less likely to run their tanks into the red, more likely to fill up, and less likely to need to panic.

In the sticks, queues built up on Friday night and continued all through Saturday and Sunday morning. By Sunday evening it seemed ok, everyone had already panic bought. People I know in those areas are mostly tradesmen who don't need to live centrally.

Shoot the messenger midlands? Any sensible government, will factor in the possibility of news organisations reporting news, and have a back up plan in case that happens, not just a cabinet wide message saying, "There is not a shortage of fuel in the country", tell that to the people in the queue!

If they’d said something along the lines of ‘nothing has changed and you might have to just get the same amount you normally get at the next station’ then this wouldn’t have happened, because that was exactly the experiences for a few weeks before last Friday. But no, the media sensationalises everything slightly negative.,l

Perhaps, but the government should factor in all scenarios, and having the media trot out that everything is fine won"t wash all the time, thats when gov.uk plan B comes in to play- tell them all that theres no fuel shortage, repeat all week, go awol , and in time it will sort itself out! Get the army? Don"t get the army?Make essentials priority? Don"t make essentials priority?Get prisoners to drive ? Don2t get prisoners to drive? You couldn"t make it up!

Planning and reaction has been beyond poor, but the supply didn’t change on Friday morning. Ridiculous demand did because of the media. If you were to factor in every possible cynical move by the media you’d never do anything or cover them all.

It's a tricky one, telling people not to panic, will inevitably create panic.

The original leak came from an internal BP meeting. Not the government or the media. The media isn't just the TV news and papers anymore. We all know fake news spreads like wildfire.

There's no real solution, mostly because there was no real problem to solve in the first place.
