Alright, let's calm our knickers, it's the Carabao Cup, nobody gives a s*** about it anyway, it was a weird lineup, I'm happy to forget it.
One loss to Chelsea oherwise, and a draw with Brentford (who beat Arsenal the week before). We can do better but I'm not cracking my dacks just yet.

Exactly. It's a bit early to start pulling the emergency cord. We always get like this .

Anyone got any idea what Vieira's management style is like ?

I feel like the team needed a rocket in the last couple of games but don't get the impression that PV is likely to raise his voice with this team.

Any insight appreciated.

I heard that he kept the team in the changing room for over an hour after the game.
Maybe he was reading them the riot act!

No

It's pointless if you score if you leak another 2.

Use your brain we are never going to be like a Liverpool or City bang in lots of goals.

We need to be organized keep it tight and nick a goal or two. (we cant even defend set pieces this needs fixing the same with creating)

Do you think we should play the same way vs the bottom 6-8 as the top 6-8? I don’t think that is a sensible strategy long term.

Take the Chelsea, game out of it, and the team has not played that badly. As we kept a clean sheet , the Brentford game could so easily have been won, it needed goals , the play outside of that was decent.
The Watford game could have been a walk over , if we would only stop looking like it was a training exercise and scoring didn’t matter.
Ward , said we need to get nasty, Call it what you will , but we also need to be more joined up when assaulting the opposition goal, as it stands our efforts and attempts tend to be individual and not backed up enough.
A couple more decent additions and a gradual improvement in some of the old hands, and Viera, could still be creating a useful side. Get those goals and it would come good.

Nope

What we should be doing is looking to not play this high % possession game all the time but go back to the roots of what worked for Palace which was hitting people quickly with counter football and also putting balls into the box.

At times against teams below you may need to play deep football to draw them out but we are so slow at build up.

Like all here we haven't a clue about his style. Well very little.

What do know is that he has one hell of a job here.
Building a team, if not from scratch, but near to it.

Now facing a rampant Wet Spam - it could be down to keeping the score below embarrassing.

It's some task supporting Palace. But someone's got to do it.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Our defence is stronger than it was last year. What makes you think we will be overrun?

Well they just beat Leicester 4-1, that bothers me a bit.

Playing most of the game against 10 men. Allowed the 10 men to pull the score back to 2-1 and scored 2 very late goals. Yes, a good result but probably not as impressive as at first sight. Also they conceded 2 against Newcastle.

I reckon we'll give them a good game assuming we have no further injuries or absentees due to illness/Covid.

You are claiming our defense is stronger now compared to the same time last year how so?
