I was always a WH supporter and got annoyed with others wanting to make him a scapegoat when he wasn't responsible for some of our conceded goals.

Guaita has established himself but being human he has made his own quota of errors but doesn't seem to get the abuse that Wayne usually got.

Guess we will never ever replace John Jackson as our best ever keeper - many saying the best uncapped keeper in England - ah, but I reminisce about the not so good old days!

If we are talking best ever keepers then by 'John Jackson' I presume you mean 'Nigel Martyn'?

Only joking of course - I didn't actually see Jackson play, though my Dad spoke highly of him and you are not the first I've met to prefer him.

On your original point, I often felt that if we could have combined Guaita's reflex saves with Hennessey's excellence under a high ball we would have had a hell of a keeper.

Played well this evening. Made a huge contribution to getting Wales to Qatar.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Wayne's World - Wales through despite being second-rate against Ukraine.

And due mainly to Wayne!!

He played well. Was often vilified by many on here. Good keeper imo. Great kick and distribution.

Man of the match.

Will be good to see the big man at the World Cup. I think he's really deserved it for his performances for Wales over the years.

And hopefully we might see a bit of Jonny Williams as well.

I was always very critical of WH. Extremely slow, no footballing ability or nouse, self-diagnosed as very thick and always took several minutes to get to a low shot that wasn't directly at him. Lacked the aerial prowess I desired from a 6'6 Welshman too. I did always say however any Welshman that height who is not playing rugby will demand questions are asked.

On the other hand however, he was our goalie through several successful PL seasons and a run to Wembley, never made a fuss etc. etc. I think at the very least some acknowledgement and gratitude of that is warranted.

I wish him no ill, I don't think he'll go down as a 'Palace great' and we needed to improve there but he did what he was paid for at the end of the day. I wish him the best of luck in seeing out his career with a World Cup experience and all the best for the future. An easy target for poking fun but in sincerity he did well by us and that should be noted.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The Hennessey Enigma; Pretty average keeper prone to exceptional Game winning performances. But, rely on him to win you games at your peril!

I was going to say, "Wayne, we salute you", but that might have been taken in the wrong context

He played a blinder and good luck to him in Qatar.

He deserves to be better than an understudy at Burnley so I hope his performance will alert other clubs.

Bale saying he wouldn’t swap WH for any keeper in the world.

Always thought we underrated him.
