The Colonial estates were Scottish owned I believe so why do we get a statue in London.
Khan is a dangerous joker setting out to ruin the greatest city in the world in a Country that his parents emigrated to in 1947.
I wish him nothing but bad.

Following a mob pulling down the statue of Colston in Bristol, London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, set up a committee to look at which statues in London should be taken down.
Now Khan has praised the decision to put up a statue of John Chilembwe on the ‘4th Plinth’ in Trafalgar Square, stating that it is: "shining a spotlight on important issues that our society continues to face, and I know they will spark debate and interest at home and abroad."
Chilembwe was a Baptist preacher in Nyasaland (now Malawi). In 1915 he was a leader of an insurrection against colonial rule. He sent his followers with orders to “kill all European men” and bring back the head of William Livingstone, a local plantation boss. Livingstone was decapitated with an axe – in front of his wife and two small children. Chilembwe proceeded to conduct a sermon in church next to the severed head of Livingstone, impaled on a pole.
Colston founded and endowed schools, houses for the poor, hospitals and churches. Yet his statue was pulled down due to his business connections to slavery. Chilembwe was a terrorist, racist and inciter of murder.
The likes of Khan clearly don't want to remove statues that may cause offence, nor do they want to remove statues of racist individuals from the past – they want to remove dead white men in their anti-white, anti-British agenda.

I had never heard of this guy before and whilst I agree it's an odd decision to put him on the 4th plinth, it is obviously correct that to do so has created interest and debate. Which is always healthy.

Your description of him though has cherry-picked only those little pieces that support a particular agenda. They need to be seen in their context, which is very much more nuanced than they alone suggest.

SDK is a virtue signalling Khant and sadly will continue to make London worse for some time to come.

* This is an opinion not a fact as I realise the two are different

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Instead of worrying about statues the champagne socialists should concentrate on giving opportunities to people from all backgrounds and allow more social mobility.
The whole issue stinks of elites making themselves feel better when all people want is a better future.
The idea for the Malawi guy is fine if it’s in Malawi but not here thanks.

Nothing on that link persuades that he should be commemorated with a statue, certainly not in UK.

Is this true or false?

The plan for 2024 is for a work called 850 Improntas by Teresa Margolies, a Mexican conceptual artist and consists of casts of the faces of 850 trans people from London and around the world. The "life masks" will be arranged around the plinth in the form of a tzompantli, a skull rack from Mesoamerican civilisations.

Yes. They need to be seen in their context of the times when it happened and the events leading up to it. These were oppressed people being exploited and driven to desperation. There is a great deal more involved here than just one brutal incident.

You cannot have been here very long then.

Maybe you also sympathise with the agenda described. Other opinions are available.
