Hang on, just so I understand this. The government is investing gazillions of tax payers money to encourage Nissan to build in Sunderland. The COO of Nissan stated on the record this morning that Nissan would not have stayed but for this public handout. The taxpayers' money is so invested in order to: (1) bribe "Red Wall" voters; and (2) justify Brexit given Nissan was a rallying cry from Remainers. And the OP thinks this somehow supports the vote to Leave. Really?

I think you'll find that the "Remain Retards" are only commenting on an idiotic claim by the OP (presumably having read it in the Express) that Nissan's decision vindicates Leave, even though it is just a manifestation of government bung. Thus, the irony of calling Remainers "retarded" is not lost. So hmg have given Joe public billions during the pandemic and now help with the Nissan with half of 1 billion to get it going and its an issue. Thousands of jobs both directly and indirectly will be made with this and the tax take on wages and business alone will be huge. What's your take on the plus 10000 being investigated for fraud and claiming furlough and grants. This number will rise and possibly total what hmg gave to Nissan at least. Once that's clawed back Nissan is a freebie. Happy days.

They should have come to Ireland. We would have paid for the factory, the workforce and made sure that Nissan paid no tax anywhere in the world. Happy days.

And richie today has told the City of London to cosy up to China in the future as they have burned their bridges with the E,U, who would have thought?

I think picking on individual cases for success or failure for Brexit probably doesn't make sense at the moment. I don't know if this is a good deal for the UK or if Nissan has played us. The only point I would make is that this deal may not have happened under EU rules. At least we now have that flexibility what the politicians do with it is another matter.

Covid has been horrendous for the world's employment. Why is investing in the British public so wrong?

A perfectly legitimate political ambition but instead, and I confess I am as guilty as anybody, we are still rehashing the old battles of 2016 which in political history, especially after the events of the last 18 or so months, are literally ancient history.
Let's leave them to wallow in their misery. It's only truly fun when you can have a modicum of respect for them and that ship truly sailed in December 2019. I’m sure you’ve made the same post 100+ times by now - are you not bored of writing it out?
