Its a risk but we needed to get something sorted out before it was too late. Backroom staff will be very important.

Not a disaster and could be anything..

Gets my support as always but this is a very big risk that I pray comes off.

I wanted age , experience, & tons of previous success.

Not happy if the rumour is true.

I tell you what; if we don't sign or re-sign some players soon, old Pat will be in our starting line-up!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Well, if this is true and there are no last minute u turns, I'm not unhappy about this.

Although my favorite would have been Nuno. I feel that Nuno would have been another manager that doesn't really feel for the club, comes in and before you know it is off again.

On the downside for Vieira, his experience as a Premiership manager is zero but it's not like he doesn't know the league. Not sure how he will cope with our budget restraits either but he must be aware of the players and could have a broad idea of who we want to keep.

On the upside, he certainly has one of the highest profiles in modern football and he's a winner.

I'm going to try and focus on the positives.

Welcome to the club Patrick. Please do well...

(P.S.. Above all, get the Bright0n thing and your already off to a good start).

underwhelming to say the least... no English league experience at all. French experience wasn't...nice (pun intended).

May as well given it to Derry.

We have a manager? Fabulous news!

What’s more PV seems a decent choice. He was an intelligent player and has some managerial experience at this level. Not to mention the charisma to attract and inspire players. So I am really pleased if this happens.

He is also in the UK at the moment so should be available for the start of pre-season. What’s not to like?

He was sacked by Nice for losing 5 matches in a row! That’s just an average Christmas for Palace!

The state of the playing squad has always been a bigger concern than the manager IMO.However, I find that quite a worrying read.

As Nice , sold all their best players annually. What did they expect.
Pochettino was bottom of the Spainish league with Espanyol, before Southampton hired him. If they didnt take a chance on him, they would of been relegated.
