You think we planned a 0-0 draw with Scotland and a tactical draw with the Czech Republic will get us 2nd place and avoid the Portugal, France, Germany scenario.

Whilst if it pans out that way we may get a easier draw next time, but you’ll have to beat a good team eventually.

Personally I don’t think the hyped up players and youngsters in the squad are quite as good as they are being made out to be and the manager is inadequate. They didn’t beat Scotland because they were lacking in ideas and aptitude.

Respect the point. England are in the next round. Scotland are probably out without a win.

They clearly targeted that game, their whole tournament was centred around getting a result against England.

Czech Republic game will probably play out for a draw, both sides go through. England will avoid Germany/France/Portugal.

We could have turned it up and got 3 points, but a level headed manager knows a point will do.

Two holding mids probably weren't required but will be against better opposition.

As for comparison with that laughing stock Woy. We won one game in a major tournament with him against Wales, in a fluke. Out in the first round of the WC, beaten by Iceland. There's no defending that joke of a human.

Wow. Seriously, you have issues, son.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

That game was a shambles. Players like Sancho, Saka, Bellingham must be scratching their heads having to watch that performance yet still not get on the pitch. If Southgate is purposely playing for 2nd in the group then he’s a genius but he currently looks like a complete fool..

Particularly Sancho. If a player valued at £90m can’t add anything to that mess then football is lost.

Bit too ruthless?

Either way. Scotland are out whilst celebrating a 0-0 draw.

The formation and tactics simply aren't working, insisting on playing Rice and Phillips sucks creativity out of the team. Bin the former who I haven't seen play a single good game in an England shirt.

We've had 2 shots on target in 2 games and don't look capable of freely scoring goals which for the amount of talent on offer is criminal. Kane looks utterly lost in this setup

Southgate needs a big performance against the Czechs after that debacle.

Don't panic, it was contrived. We've just done what the Continentals do in their silly song contest ... help out our nearest neighbour.

IF we lose to Czecks and the Scots beat Croatia by 2 goals we end up third. Do we still avoid France,Germany,Portugal?

It's 'while' or perhaps 'despite', not 'whilst'. See; lack of talent and ability affects even you.

So what your basically saying is Roy inherited a side in disarray , started off well, but over 4 years deteriorated and culminated with a clueless, negative performance against Iceland.

Can’t help but feel I’ve experienced that…..

I'm not saying anything, pal. I'm merely correcting an error by the poster who said Roy H had only won one match at a major tourney. WRONG!

Oh, and while I'm correcting; it's 'you're' (you are) not 'your'.
