Whyteleafe ground will soon be flats and houses if Croydon Council have anything to do with it.
They don't even look into planning applications anymore, just rubber stamp them.

That's what happened to one of my childhood football grounds - Dartford FC 'Watling Street', which at the death was shared by Maidstone FC. The latter went bust and somehow the whole pack of cards fell in. Identikit boxes (aka 'houses') ensued.

I once watched Plymouth Argyle play away 2 weeks running. At Dartford in the FA Cup (Plymouth won 3-2 I think, or perhaps it was 2-1. Anyway...it all kicked off!) then at Selhurst Park in the Third Division (3-3. The game where a few Argyle fans came on to the pitch at the Whitehorse end, dribbled a ball upfield and stuck it in the Holmesdale end net!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
