Sorry again for the bereavements. I've given up on Israel and I am now looking at a walking holiday in the Azores everyone who I have spoken to say they are beautiful. I have only just started my research but it seems you have to fly there via Portugal. So far the few websites I have looked at are quiet on the PCR test most of them provide a link to the government travel restrictions which tells you what you need not how you get it. In practical terms I need to understand how do I take a PCR test on a fairly remote island and get it tested and the result back in 48 hours before I come home. My guess is this is problematic and that the travel industry is hoping the government will drop the PCR requirement. I would expect mass destinations like Benidorm* should be able to arrange this but I am not convinced this is practical for out of the way places. I wasn't planning on going until later in the year so it's a watching brief for me now. *I know it's not on the green list.

They are probably more tourist “savvy”. Hopefully all will become clearer later in year. Good luck! Edited by Spiderman (17 May 2021 7.38am)

Edited by Spiderman (17 May 2021 7.38am) Sure it's a good call I must admit I prefer holidays away from the obvious tourist beach type places but it's certainly worth considering.

I've been to Madeira several times and 90% of the tourists are concentrated in Funchal which we have actually never been to. It's a beautiful island well known for it's walks and well worth putting on your short list

The guidelines are so unclear at present, like a collective fingers crossed. You'd get more sense from a drunk guy at a bar, than from most current governments.
