Don't be so rude. It's not done to enquire about the age of an old gent. Suffice to say All Shook Up was released in 1957 and I was 10 when I first heard it.

'All Shook Up' by Elvis being played on the jukebox in Morelli's coffee bar at Broadstairs. On holiday there with my parents and was literally shaken by it. Insisted on going back to Morelli's every morning to invest another 6d. Now have a copy in my jukebox at home. Always the first record I play. A coffee bar in 50s Broadstairs listening to Elvis on the wireless. Sounds idyllic, and there hasn't been anyone to top Elvis male singer wise. He did love himself a burger though.

new rose - the damned. I remember the night in early 1977 when John Peel played this and Stretcher Case. It was shortly after seeing some very strangely dressed people hanging around The Global Village at Charing Cross. It really felt as though everything was about to change although there wasn’t a lot of punk available - from memory the next song I heard was Remote Control by The Clash.

I’d have to say, Waterfront by Simple Minds, it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end when I get the chance to crank it up loud when I’ve got the house to myself

Well there a load of songs that cause me an emotional response of one sort or another but seeing and hearing the Seven Seas of Rye by Queen the first time was fairly mind blowing. Nah, too many mind blowing songs to mention. What about Man Needs a Maid by Neil Young. That's it I'm stopping there. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (13 May 2021 8.02pm)
