Read the first paragraph mate where it was a bit graphy for my liking, a bit like todays press conference. You have to put yourself in my shoes, if JC had got in, and dianne abbott was doing the gov press conference today, after telling you it was record breaking, world beating, gold starring, look how clever i am, and then said we dont want anyone under 30 taking it, you would be all over it!I think they are getting away with murder, cocking up, carving up the loot , lining not just theirs, but their great great great grandchildrens pockets, and nobody cares. And im not saying vote starmer either, he was a double crosser not to be trusted, but like i said, you imagine if the boot was on the other foot and you would be spitting blood!

But I’m not interested in the political side of it, CP, just that thousands of people die of blood clots and DVT every year.
If it is proven that the vaccine was responsible then maybe those who said it had been under tested have a point.

31% risk of blood clot from the severe form of the disease.

You do the arithmetic.

Politics/economics feeding off the sort of mass hysteria that causes people to wear masks in the street, or when driving alone in their own car!

This is not thalidomide. I have had one AZ dose and will have the second from the same source in June.

I suspect there is a higher risk of getting an infection from the needle than getting blood clots; and that doesn't matter which juice they pump you with.

This.

I suppose we will find out soon enough if there is actually a causal link in younger women, but even if there was, as has been stated the incidence rate is so vanishingly low as to be almost inconsequential.

Legally though, there might be an issue without if it is causal and they don't take any steps – which is probably why they've decided to withhold it from the under 30s. That and the fact out of the 20m+ given it so far not that many are under 30, so it could increase.

The fact still remains though, that 79 cases out of 20m is significantly lower incidence rate of clotting than what would be expected from a non-vaccinated group, which I believe is something like 1700 cases per million. Soooo it's all a bit overblown, really.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

England has 40,000 deaths from thrombosis per year.

Rather puts the 79 cases and 19 deaths from 20 million vaccinated people into perspective.

Thrombosis is a bloomin big issue it seems. I hadn’t realised the scale.

All very well, but is it safe?

I may be missing it in your link, but I can't see where it states 40,000 deaths in England. The last data I can find is 40,000 for the whole of the EU.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

This situation really sums up the mentality of people in 2021. Paranoid.

It is clear that the risks of the AZ vaccine are heavily outweighed by the benefit. About 1 in 250,000 people have had blood clots which may or may not be caused entirely by the jab.
I totally understand the apprehension about having a fast tracked vaccine but so far the results seem very good.

Politically, it is also reasonable to offer alternative versions to younger people who are likely to feel that the risk against benefit balance is slightly less favourable. In reality however, the alternatives offered are probably just as likely to cause some side effects in a small number of people as the AZ.

This is the correct reply Badger! It is preferable for everyone to get the jab,I would if i hadn"t already got the pfiser, its just the world beating, first in the race, gold medal, jingoism that these CONS have to give out every time, and posters and CONS blaming europe for questioning the safety , that erks me. Maybe any poster that said europe were just getting brexit revenge, who have now been proved right, will do the decent thing and say they were wrong.

Seriously CP, is every life decision and thought you have based on a a political agenda? It doesn't seem to matter what is being discussed you will try and blame the conservative party for any negativity stemming from it.

You need to loosen up a bit and get a rake of beers down you.
