In the mid eighties I was living in Newcastle and bought a 1966 Alfa Spyder which had been rebuilt from the ground up and had great fun in it for three years until I sold it for twice what I paid for it. It was your mention of Bell & Colville that reminded me as i used to Know John Colville so I sent the car down to him from the North East to sell. In my younger days I used to dream of owning a 1972 Ferrari Dino and it's still the car that I would buy if I won the lottery My Mum's friend Jean was John C's girlfriend for a while in the 70's. As a kid we'd go to some of his garden parties at his house in Purley.

I owned one for a few years. Originally the Lotus 7 and when Colin Chapman no longer wanted to make it a Lotus dealer, Caterham Car Sales, bought all his blueprints and the rights to build it. But they couldn't use the Lotus badge so came up with the novel idea of calling it the Caterham. Not quite the same. Mine had a Lotus badge on it, as did loads of others. And, you're right, it was a head turner. And bloody quick. It's funny how sometimes the badge makes all the difference.

It is such a shame that they are no longer based in Caterham. I loved walking past the showroom everyday on the way to the station . 80s Audi Quattro (Ashes to Ashes Style) for me or 1966 Ford Mustang GT convertible. Originally posted by Palace Old Geezer

1966 Ford Mustang GT convertible. When I was 17 and living in Worcester Park one of my wealthy friends had a Mustang and one evening a group of us drove up to London in his Mustang and another friend's Fiat 600. Every time the lights turned green the Mustang would roar away from the little Fiat but every time we came to a bend the Fiat would catch up as the Mustang was so poor on corners

Made me chuckle, love your attitude, defo worth a friend request! Back on topic So many to choose from but I'd love the Mustang Shelby from War of the Worlds
