I’ve got 100’s of LP’s and singles from the 70’s through to the 90’s and wouldn’t be without them. However, I’ve got no desire to purchase new stuff now and I’m happy to listen to music via streaming / on my Sonos speakers as I have Amazon music unlimited. I’m not about to get rid of my cassettes or cd’s as well. There is room for all types in my opinion but I’m not going to buy LP’s anymore as space is at a premium :-)

I love playing my old vinyl. Everything from Led Zep, to Bob Marley,Rolling Stones to The Specials but mostly punk. 10 years ago I got knocked for a onsiderable amount of money(only just clearing debts this month) and had to sell loads of my vinyl singles and albums. The money went to pay my mortage for quite a few months. I've managed to search around and get replacements but some were so rare I've not spotted on Ebay or any shops specialising in vinyl. Unfortuantely for me,my Wife has set up office in the dining room where my deck is and has been there all the time during lockdown so no loud music for me while I'm off shift. I have been playing guitar on a mates musical project and will be featured on a limited-edition vinyl album to be released in the summer,CD to follow and hopefully gigs! Ollie's Dad, Ash.

They're not that convenient. I just tried skinning up on Rumours but my stuff kept on flying off and spinning around. Eventually a bud got caught up in the stylus and left me with a scratched album. Tell me lies

It was a copy of the first Led Zeppelin album that I picked up in Carnaby Street for £12 in the '80s which was a rare original press with blue writing on the cover. I got £500 for it which I couldn't resist at the time.

No - central London was more my hunting territory. There was another shop in Rupert St which sold “cut-outs” cheaply as well as the barrow selling singles. Were "cut -outs" those flimsy records that were literally on a sheet of plastic? Had forgot those ever existed, kind of thing you got free in a comic or magazine?I probably got your seconds in beanos ten tears later- last record i bought there was duran duran believe it or not, but "ordinary world", great tune!

No, they were the equivalent to remaindered books - they used to have a corner cut off the sleeve or a hole drilled through it. They’re often worth a bit now because they didn’t sell many copies.

Memories. I used to buy all my 78s for many years from a little shop Addiscombe Music Stores near Bingham road.
