Purley on the other hand....

And one of the biggest puzzles. Purley should be the most exclusive part of the borough. Fantastic travel links, a wealthy populations, the place should be rammed full of quality shops and acclaimed restuarants. Instead it is charity shop central, perhaps the s***tiest car-park in London and generally feels like it has been completely neglected. Why? What on earth has happened? Coulsdon is OK. Good shops, some nice coffee shops, a couple of interesting family run restaurants but essentially it is a village on the edge of London. Purley should be a real thriving hub. Instead it just feels grim.

Who could not love a council like that?

I can confirm chatham is also a s***hole.
As like croydon the outskirts are different which is where I live. Croydon is where I was born and lived for 30 years so I am qualified to categorically tell you it is now officially a s***hole.

There are s*** holes and then there is croydon, and I have lived in the borough all my life.

Purley destroyed by the motor vehicle in my opinion, a one-way trip to hell.

Is Mr. Angry from Purley still alive?

Why are you trying to stick up for croydon, you even said it has a reputation?

Carrity begins at home dan, carrity begins at home! Coulsdon"s a nice little town, i have lots of family and pals there, but its not a major player like Croydon, which has gone downhill granted, but will come back. People come from the south coast to shop in croydon, or used to, driving past coulsdon on the way, but i never had a problem with coulsdon, nice town , not enough pubs but its no croydon!

You obviously wern"t there today like i was or every day this week, its busy believe me, not great shopping, but as good as any other town outside a major city, Croydon was the shopping place, its gone downhill due to westfield not happening, but still better than most towns you see on tv, anyone see crawley on news yesterday? That is a s*** hole, but who gives a fcuk anyway, if you dont like croydon, don"t go there, more room for us locals!

To be fair, they used to. But it is just to scummy there now. Croydon could be rejuvenated but not whilst it has a Labour council running it. Simply not interested in actually making peoples lives easier. You just need to look at the f*** up that is Crystal Palace now. Blocked off a load of roads to please a few wealthy residents and ensued utter mayhem as traffic got clogged up.

dannyboy, you"re showing your young years, have you had a shandy or two? Stop making words up that were never said, i told you yesterday, i never have said croydon is a dive, its not, just not as good a shopping experience as it used to be, but you could still pick up your trackie and trainers in centrale if you want, its simple, just don2t go there if you don"t like it, shop in coulsdon!
