After ' celebrating ' Beaujolais Nouveau Day in the City some years ago, I lost my footing near the top of the up escalator at Bank station. My head hit every step on the way down. As I lay at the bottom, a guy asked me if I was alright ( ! )...I asked him if there was any blood and he replied '' oh yeah '' ...at which point I passed out. I was taken to Guys Hospital where they examined my head, shaved it where they thought it might require stitches ( it didn't ), and kept me in overnight. It left me with ......an imprint of the escalator on my skull for weeks, a bald patch which never recovered...and I never touched a drop of Beaujolais again...which was the only positive Edited by NEILLO (27 Oct 2020 2.03pm) I was very lucky at Waterloo station, as we reached the top of the escalator the guy in front was drunk and fell back into me with force. Fortunately my mate whose was below me and a lump realised what was happening and braced himself against me otherwise me and this idiot would have tumbled down taking everyone with us. He was so drunk that when I pushed him back into an upright position he didn't even realise what had happened.
