That isn't what actually happened.

Raab stormed off after being told that Calais is in France, not the UK.

His lover rushed to his side, and fatally left the revolver behind.

All's fair in love and war.

Easy mistake to make Calais was British up to Henry VIII and even after the French re-took it had a large British population. Maybe we should reclaim it? I'm sure the boat people would agree

That's a lie. He wouldn't be paying them the employers would. If anything the minimum wage could be the law that has held back pay rises. Eventually companies would have had to compete with each other for staff (present situation is exceptional)
Now they know exactly the worst case for their budgets so can have the pick of the crop; even the hard workers are getting the same as the lazy t***s. Many many employers would be paying more by now but thanks to do gooders like you they're not.

No lie i"m afraid mate, he wanted to get rid of minimum wage to under 21"s, alsowanted to abolish working time directive, and end workers rights for agency workers, and pension transfers for small company workers, It"s a race to the bottom under these CONS mate, your 20% pay cut the other month or 5 could just be the start, it"s happening all over.

Many employers would be paying more? Do me a favour- they pay as little as they can get away with in general, granted there"s a few exceptions but don"t believe they would lump any savings by not paying your collegues the minimum wage on to your heap- they wouldn"t! Bit like if everyone paid their tv licence they could reduce the cost - they wouldn"t- just increase their salary. If wanting every worker to get a fair wage makes me a do gooder- then i"m proud to be called one- i thank you!

I support the minimum wage and believe it should be about £10 per hour. That said we are facing a massive increase in unemployment due the virus and automation so I want politicians to use their imagination and be brave and to think the unthinkable.

A while ago the BBC published an EU report that stated that Spain had enjoyed a far higher wage increase than the UK since 2008. What dear old auntie forgot to mention was that youth unemployment was 50% and total unemployment was just under 30%. In other words if you had a job and could hang onto to it you were getting a good pay rise, if? you had a job.

Since 2008 in the UK wages have stagnated but unemployment has fallen until now as workers realised it is better to have a job and forgo a pay rise.

I think Raab is wrong and I assume so do the the rest of the cabinet as his idea never got off the ground. However we have far too many "no go areas" in politics which means they are afraid to put forward ideas such as dealing with knife crime by BAME criminals.

Rather than vilify Raab he should be rebuffed with facts by economists.

I agree - raab"s not the brightest politician to have at the top, not knowing that Dover was the main trade route to Europe was hilarious- if it wasn"t so serious!

Dover is NOT the main trade route to Europe, Felixstowe is.
If this post wasn't so serious, it would be hilarious.

LABouring over political point scoring is not your forte CP, leave it for those that know & do. I am NOT one of those, thank god. Over to you guys.

Mary Tudor lost Calais. It was a huge blow to her popularity, probably more of a blow than burning protestants at the stake. I believe the ditches and moats of the fortifications froze over and a large French force simply marched over and overwhelmed an inadequate, small garrison. I think it was Old Lord Russell who fought the longest, before being captured, and I reckon he was 60? Could be totally wrong.

Unfortunately 'Masterminds' version of history, like our education systems, will probably be totally untrue.
