I was thinking more like Walcott+ 45 to 55 (as Zaha's price after the pandemic seems to be 50-60 million), but I would like the 98 milllion+ Walcott you suggested

Has scored a great deal of goals over the years but his talents are on the wane hence being a bit player these days for Everton and has not got youth on his side being 31 - so No

The board probably don't listen to Mattteo because he is posting on a forum for football supporters. To succeed, he needs to send a letter to the club, with references, offering his services.

Even then, it's a long road to travel before he gets any formal link.

But with this particular swap, would anyone turn down Walcott +£98 million?

I for one am good with that. But I am not good with Wilf for Walcott plus £5m.

Thats why Mattteo needs to enumerate.

Is he a bonafide analyst though or just a bloke with too much time on his hands?

I absolutely loved Claude Davies. Didn't realise how huge he was until I sat directly behind the Holmesdale goal v Villa in the cup, getting drenched.

He did liven up the odd game. He just lost it and punched someone one day. I said 'if he'd meant to hit him, he'd be knocked out', as it was the usual play acting. It's actually funny to remember how truly bad we were those days.

And he was nowhere near the worst - well he was somewhere near in all fairness.

Why ask? Do your research. Open some threads, easy enough.

Walcott + 50m and I'm up for that. Our proceeds from the 50m still get us a decent first choice player...maybe enough to get Sarr (along with some cash of our own)

The all seeing, all knowing Matteo.....this is the biggest load of s##t I have heard from you yet.(And there is a lot to choose from) There is a reason why you are on a forum making your options heard rather than actually working for the club and this suggestion is the reason why. Walcott for Zaha???? Seriously mate, have a long word with yourself. Im more likely to get in the England squad than Walcott

Given that we are all aware that Palace have an ageing squad that is crying out for an injection of younger players ( which we are starting to see with recent signings ), this proposal makes no sense at all.

Walcott has always looked like a sprinter in a football kit. Put him at the same speed as someone like Salah (quick, not electric) and I genuinely don't think starts for a top 10 team at any point in his career. Never felt dangerous against a defence sitting deep. Good player, never great, and now on a rapid decline.

At the current time, I don't think he gets into any Premier League side - Fulham and WBA included. With his reliance on pace, he's one of those players who peaked very early - a Michael Owen type.

Couldn't be further from what the club needs.
