Considering:
the kind of player that would suit our play style,
the skill set of the player,
how much we can afford to pay (transfer/wages/agents fees)
which players are currently looking for a move
those players that appear to have the skills to do well in the premier league
the attractiveness of a move to Croydon compared to other potential locations,
other offers being put to all these players...

Who do suggest we go for?

This is vaguely relevant in that we did apparently make an initial bid for Mateta a couple of weeks ago. They would have to buy in a replacement, which once they do that would allow Mateta to move on? A bit of a long shot I admit
