I get that it means that to some but... Wider still and wider shall thy bounds be set; Speaks to me of the expansion of the Empire and conquest. Stuff that is part of history not part of today. But I get why folks like it. Bit like Jerusalem. Things move on. Probably why we seem to have forgotten the third verse of the National Anthem.

Really I prefer it to that National Anthem dirge, and nonsensical Jerusalem at cricket matches. A re-vamp of these anthems to reflect an England that is not stone dead would be great, songs by the Beatles perhaps. Glad all over?? No, not really........ And get rid of Gary Lineker at the same time. Clinton Morrison the first Obama. Anything, just anything, different.
I agree about the National Anthem, awful. Jerusalem should be our anthem but will never happen ( for the title alone if nothing else!)

Every nation and culture has shared musical scores at the core of its identity. Look at Palace for example? How many of our songs are whimsical nonsense yet we all happily sing along and have a thoroughly good time doing so. This is where I struggle with understanding why Lefties act like they do. They must comprehend that such attacks achieve nothing other than just increase the divisions? And yet it is constant now. The sneering, the mocking, just the general sense of looking down their noses and making no bones about favouring foreign cultures and people over their own. Do they think it ends well? Did December 2019 not teach them anything? Or are the feel good moments all? That chance to get the dopamine hit that comes from celebrating the alien whilst condemning the native? How do they think this all ultimately plays out? Or do they actually want us all at each others throats? Strange lot. All the degrees and PHD's in the world yet ultimately, as thick as f***.

This is not just about political correctness. This is another example of the early signs of a rapid shift in the demographic of this country. In a couple of generations, people who have ancestry going back more than, at most, four generations will be in a rapidly shrinking minority. Well, we are going the way of the Neanderthal, that is what is going on.

That is one of my gripes The reason why Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem (a favourite of Clement Atlee) are still around is that they are stirring patriotic songs that the public like. They were topical and relevant at the time they were written. If some people feel today they are outdated why not create a new anthem that is just as topical and relevant as they were in their time. It can be as woke as you like if the public take to it then you have a new tradition but stop trying to tear down the old ones which many people have an affection for.

Well, we are going the way of the Neanderthal, that is what is going on. Maybe. I always equate our fate to that of the Dinosaurs staring up at a huge big meteor making straight for them. But there were two kinds of Dinosaurs. Those ones who fled for the nearest cave to whimper and die in a pool of their own fear induced piss and s***. Or the other. Who remained in the sunshine, staring up and roaring in defiance, ready to at least try and smash that rock to f***. Because you never know. People have to make a choice about what kind of Dinosaur they want to be remembered as. If we are going to die then better to die well.

Problem is that there is so much of it formal teaching can only ever be selective and scratch the surface. But I kind of feel that we need to move on from stuff like this. No forget, move on.

New, young, lift us out of our gloom and move on. Fat chance I am afraid.

Land of dope and tory my friend, land of dope and tory! Give an inch and your mind take too many miles. Many have woken (excuse the use of such a w***y word) up to it, including me, and in I’ll stand firm because we won’t give up things because some t*** who used to have wispy beard and a cord blazer with elbow patches thinks so. If we all stand up while we’re still alive we’ll always win. We and they know it. Only when we’ve been outnumbered can they win, if we stay silent. Well I think everyone is waking up to these embarrassing weakling white tits living in dusty comfort thinking they can plan the future.
