I doubt anyone is going to pay Chelsea the fee they want because of his age. So either Chelsea drop their price or they send him on loan. I would be very happy if we could have him on load for 1 season as long as we buy another striker. If the fee could be dramatically reduced (eg under£10m) then yes.

Would love Bats, however unsure if this is the direction we should go again. High wages for another teams unwanted player. If we could structure a decent fee/wages package or loan to buy option i'd be all for it. Otherwise I wouldnt be unhappy if we looked elsewhere. Leeds, Villa or Fulham type signing for me.

This one is all about price for me. He has quality and should be approaching a golden time in his career- just depends how much he wants to play football. He is a proven goals scorer but others may be a better option if Chelsea want more than £25 million. Personally I would like a more imposing No 9 with a bit of physical presence - but it’s all about goals in the end and Batshuayi would deliver in that regard imo.

Yes it should also be considered where he’s going to receive the ball. Back to goal on the halfway line he is weak.

We have lacked a natural in the box ,6 yard finisher,. When he was with us that’s what he gave us. We still lack that ,it’s why we can’t score often enough. So it’s yes for me , but not if Chelsea want silly money, or he wants silly wages. Another loan wouldn’t hurt if we are stuck elsewhere.

When you consider how he has never really been favoured at Chelsea, that wage is probably the main reason he hasn’t begged to leave. As I don’t suppose many outside of the top sides anywhere , will pay him that sort of money. Chelsea would lose very little if they off loaded at 15-20 mill saving some on salary . But would he go anywhere for less money. Never say never maybe? He did do a good job for us last time, and his resale value must be lower etc?

Chelsea have said , in the past , that they want to get rid of strikers who are not scoring goals and Batshuayi is one of them . So why do we want another striker who can't score?

He did alright when he came to us. 5 goals in 11 apps according to Wkipedia. To have a striker that scores almost 1 in 2 games. I would settle for that. I can only see a loan though. They want too much for him.

He is reportedly signing a new contract before going out on loan. I believe 2 players cannot be loaned from the same club, and Gallagher is a done deal, so probably not coming to Palace.
