Amazed that anyone is seriously considering Ferguson for week 1. He’ll have had effectively 3 weeks at the club by then - assuming training starts on Monday. He’s played last in January, has no experience at this level, has only seen us play on TV and never trained under Roy. 18 years old and promising. Dreaming if you think he starts.

Totally reasonable answer, it will be a month or so before he is up to full fitness, then he has to learn the Roy system which will be another few weeks. Ward will start until he gets injured, which he does of course every year, so Ferguson will get his chance then (unless of course it’s early season and then it it will be Kelly if in fact he is fit!).

Thinking about week 1 and early season line up, any news on Scott Dann? Has his contract expired? Apparently so checking online. If that's the case we are horribly horribly short at the back - even by last year's standards PvA - crocked for some time I imagine It doesn't leave a lot now does it?
