History happened whether we like it or not. We should be educating not trying to expunge history. The slave trade was abhorrent but was an acceptable practice way back when. Surely by exposing it and teaching it in schools we could ensure it never happens again and modern day slavery should also be highlighted
Slave trade ? Imagine black slavers arriving in ships and stealing white slaves. Baltimore co cork 1613 , Barbary pirates.
The Romans will have enslaved many a Briton. Edited by PalazioVecchio (15 Jun 2020 3.42pm)

Black Lives Matter is not divisive, unless as pointed out earlier, you want to mis-read the intent. I don’t think anyone has mis read anything, I don’t think the actions match the intent. BLM have told people they are a peacefully protesting group which couldn’t be further from the truth. They are also totally intolerant to anyone that doesn’t share their angst. Do you honestly think the average man on the street wants to be branded a racist because he doesn’t actively support the cause of BLM? A lot of people find it offensive and this is why what they are doing is going about a just cause but in an unjust way.

This is not something I would do. As I have posted elsewhere I think it's the wrong message which perpetuates a problem rather than solving it. "All lives matter" would be better, although I suspect some in the anti-abortion movement would then try to hi-jack the intent. They are associating themselves with the words and their meaning.
how do you come to this bizarre conclusion? Black lives matter IS the BLM slogan, their raison d'etre!! Therefore the PL is associating themselves with the BLM organisation!

That’s cartoon misses the bit where they soaked their house in petrol and lit a match first, and then started telling their neighbours it was their fault the house was on fire and started smashing the neighbours house up.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
